What was the point of it all if the entire Skywalker family died miserably in the end? That’s the feeling I’ve had about the entire Star Wars franchise ever since 2019…that it was all pointless. I need this movie.

What is the point of simply telling the same story again? What is the point of the sequel trilogy and of Ben if he just is a copy of Vader in the end, beat for beat? What is the new meaning we are meant to take away from that?

How did it set up that he would be redeemed and live? Going by your tone I'm not sure I'll get a pleasant response, but Ben did a whole slew of horrible shit; the story introduced him with literal genocide of a small village and then an entire star system. It isn't about redemption.

Yeah like I’m sorry but there’s a total lack of emotional catharsis for his character and for what his entire family went through in those movies to save him. It is a betrayal of their love and their hope for him that he dies like that for basically no reason.

Last bit, for now, there is nothing satisfying about a character who has only known pain and suffering dying in a self sacrificial way. Especially when the death is so easily avoidable. It’s even worse when creatives try to spin it as a positive because they’re not suffering anymore.

“Made me feel stupid for ever caring” is exactly right it’s the perfect description. I felt like I was being mocked for ever caring about Star Wars in general. It has made it so hard to enjoy that entire series ever since. I need this movie. I’m so glad they cared about fixing their mistake.

Listen, I’m not going to get into it with people who don't understand Ben Solo as a character 10 years after we met him, but I love that character so much. I saw so much of myself in him and his ending absolutely gutted me. Adam Driver gave SO much to him for that to be it? It’s just so unfair.
