In just these 9 minutes, his main points re TLJ are clear: "character based" "emotion" "tone" & "love." Since that's not what many Real Fans™️were expecting, they decried TLJ/Rian as 'subverting expectations' & 'ruining [Star Wars/Luke/their childhood]'. But even George said SW was just love, really.

I hate it when the word "toxic" gets thrown around in regards to Fictional Characters like yeah sometimes that is the intent of the story but most of the time it feels like it's people using it to refer to any sort of conflict or tension happening in a story. 😒

He still regularly gets people coming up to him and gushing about how much TLJ means to them and how it made them feel like a kid watching SW again. (This was super nice to hear!)
