About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

BTW this isn't a selfish thing, I save out my own earnings for it after I get my other gifts for family and my wife. And my wife has birthday, anniversary, and xmas gifts all in the same month, so no griping at me for wanting to give back to myself a little and find some semblance of joy again.

Now for something positive. I DID find a few good deals this week. Meygan is only missing her purse and as a lover of all things Nessie, I had to get Seasaurus(?) who is usually part of a $100 3 pack, so Im glad to get him so cheap by itself.

There is seriously something seriously wrong and stupid about the scalper market for things like this. Things were not this bad 15 years ago unless something had 300 printed or something. I suppose the economy is a factor... but isnt *everyone* poorer? Every scalper must have a fucking platinum cc.

Its not the end of the world for either of course Im just venting. I genuinely feel hurt when things get stupid out of reach for fans, so I complain about it. If companies made figures/dolls more available or God forbid did reprints every few years or so, things wouldnt feel so hopeless.
