i was also happy to see ema opening up more and asking to do more fun things with takara for old times sakes. and that she also knows that she’s surrounded by people she loves, which gives her space to ask for more support.

it was important for her to realize that she doesn’t want to be a substitute for em’s husband. even tho she feels conflicted about him and his relationship with em, she wants to be the taka that em needs and loves so much. she’s her own person who leaves an special mark on

vol 3 of pink candy kiss was a fun read, filled with moments of changes between these two, but also their own personal growth. the highlight of this vol to me was takara reflecting more about herself and her feelings, even being a little more greedy and wanting to know more

Nojiko Hayakawa's such an underrated artist, breathtaking cover art & even better paneling.
Usually artists'll have a couple standout panels, but every page from her just look like this.
Very natural paneling, her art isn't constrained by the boxy shapes the way so many manga do.

vol 4 of “stay by my side after the rain” have a lot of beautiful moments, but this one grabbed my heart 🥹💛 the growing feeling of “there is hope” for a young boy, who’s probably feeling so confused and left out, when he sees a couple being happy and themselves!!

“a starlit darkness” by toyota yo have been pretty interesting so far. it’s interesting to see how she’s exploring the lives of these two different writers who has extremely different lives and how the literary world is so prejudiced by works that are adored by women and not men

i talk a lot about yamashita-sensei's one shots but i recently read "je t'aime, café noir" and it definitely became one of my favs. she managed to create a short story with 7 different characters and all of them have a fun storyline and engage with the narrative in different ways

haha to ane have an eeriness that feels like will attack you at any point. a story about sisters who lost their cold and distant mother. both are dealing not only with grief, but also with the guilt of feeling relieved by her departure; afraid of ending up like her or one another

"kaze machi no futari" by kashiwai is a very comforting reading. it explores the friendship of a lonely painter and a young girl who suddenly appears on his house. it talks a lot about loneliness, about old wounds that are slowly fading and new days to be lived to the fullest

i can easily say that "umibe no stove" was one of my favorite reads this year. it's an anthology with stories that explores human relationships and life itself.

sleeping bug is another interesting work by kyouyama atsuki that explores different understandings of romantic relationships and sexual desire. uruno felt very demi to me, specially when he started to understand more of how he was “programmed” and what love and sex meant to him

barefoot angel was the type of story that caught me by surprise (in a great way!). it talks about a shoemaker that one day finds a mysterious man that claim to be an "ex-angel". both start to live together and learn more about each other's worlds, which they have no idea about

i love, love how their communication grew even more in “fake fact lips break”. love how both of them recognized their own flaws, but also set their boundaries. their companionship and love grew more and more, it was so cute to see 🥹
