(I mean obviously THE GODFATHER, but you don’t need me to tell you that.)

My sentimental favorite: BABY BOOM. Incredibly of its time but in part a nice grown-up romcom.

I also like that she mentioned FATHER OF THE BRIDE. Some of it is very cringey, but, like I suspect a lot of people did, I made sparkly wedding sneakers for my sister because of that movie.

I was thinking yesterday I was surprised I hadn’t seen a shark (or, if you will, a Left Shark) yet.
lindaholmes.bsky.social
It wasn’t me, but that’s an excellent idea and I’m so glad you did it.

Oh, Celeste, I’m so sorry. I’m glad it was peaceful. Holding you and yours in the light.

I didn’t think about it until this mention, but I’m not sure whether I wrote this book because I tend to feel for guys who are in Kerkering’s position or whether I feel for them because I went through the process of writing the book.

The way my brain works though, somebody OBVIOUSLY needs to write a romance novel where the hero is a baseball player who messes up in a big game and has to deal with the fallout and confront what it means to fail, to earn redemption, and to believe you're worthy of love as an imperfect human.

Somebody out there is undoubtedly trying to buy up all the inflatable frog costumes, which they will then resell on the inflatable frog costume version of StubHub.

I think sometimes we are all Sherman.

Extremely dog behavior. “Thank you for resetting my hole-jumping game.”

It’s not that I don’t understand acting, but it’s REALLY impressive to meet him and realize they’ve managed to so successfully pass him off as a guy so unappealing that nobody can believe he has a girlfriend.

I mean they tried really hard to dig their way back into that series and they almost did!
lindaholmes.bsky.social
Right! The whole reason I like baseball is that over the course of a season, you play better and worse and better and worse and it all balances out. It’s only in the postseason that it’s suddenly a completely different deal.

Once the team is in the position where the next thing that doesn’t go perfectly ends your season, the overwhelming majority of What Happened has already happened.

Every guy on that team contributed, including him, to a very good season in which they won their division by a pretty dominating 13 games. I dearly hope everybody who even pretends to understand baseball understands that guys make errors, and no one error is actually the reason you lose a series.

Like, you don’t even have to be the National Guard to be helpful in the parking lot! Just be people, walking around! That makes it feel safer!

I will believe brags like this when they show me the plans they put in writing a year ago that said “My intent is for everyone to think this is the stupidest idea they’ve ever heard that to actually write that on the posters.”

The word “attention” already exists!
lindaholmes.bsky.social
Wait, I need to save some hate for the word “mindshare”
lindaholmes.bsky.social
This is very reasonable.
