I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.

I may try that. Thanks

All done now. Maybe next time

I have to mash potatoes for the shepherds pie. I do not want to mash potatoes. I'm not sure my arms have the required strength. Would any of you like to pop round & mash my potatoes?

You've completely missed my point haven't you?

I think McSweeney is wrong. Why try to out-fascist actual fascists. We deserve better

So what exactly is your issue with this? I realise Americans think "pie" is always sweet but I can't make the link between savoury pies and the war.

People freaking out over the Chat-fishing dating-app article seem to miss that this is the *whole point* of ChatGPT and similar generative AI: writing as though you’re something other than you are. The whole idea is deception. Writing like a pro, like a lawyer etc, when you’re too lazy to be one.

Also why wouldn't
“I’ve been reading a bit about attachment styles lately, it’s helped me to understand myself better – and the type of partner I should be looking for. Have you ever looked at yours? Do you know your attachment style?”
immediately ring alarm bells?
littlemavis.bsky.social
But it's the concept. The normalising of deception. Like, say, allowing Bake-off contestants to use bought stuff as long as they don't get caught

North of Bury on another hill. I won't have a photo because we can only really see it at night because of the lights

Why are governments still so blatantly supporting Israel In this? It's hard not to assume that Netanyahu has some kind of hold over them. Surely there is something we don't know about because it just doesn't make sense

You get to a point in many jobs where it may appear you are guessing or that what you do automatically is obvious but what experts make look easy is often based on years of experience and a huge amount of knowledge. Plus human critical thinking
littlemavis.bsky.social
We have line of sight to Winter Hill
littlemavis.bsky.social
But it's cheaper because the job doesn't require much knowledge or experience. Ultimately it serves as a gatekeeper to limit or slow access to people with the required knowledge

Take NHS 111. They work their way through a tick list (a bit more complicated but essentially a tick list). If your issue is too complicated for this approach, it fails. They miss things that an operator with appropriate knowledge would spot.

Doing a lot of musing today (while trying to cope with the vicissitudes of life) and thinking that it's rather ironic that those in charge of education are so keen on "knowledge" being the most important fascet while many jobs seem focussed on removing the need for knowledge by outsourcing it to AI

A collage of some of my products: art prints with record players, books and brutalist architecture, a teal T-shirt with cassette tapes, 70s patterned cushion, orange patterned phone case, cassette mug, and a spiral design slipmat.

Or am I being too sensitive about this & it's really "just a bit of fun"?

We should trust trained experts right now. But so many trust Tump & RFK rather than experts on vaccination. People have been deceived so very often and those we should trust least point at those we should trust most & sow doubt and make accusations of dishonesty leaving confusion in their wake

I do dislike reading a post or thread that uses initials or acronyms that aren't in everyday usage without explaining what they mean
Remember, your professional jargon may be obvious to you but if you're trying to communicate with the general public on social media you have to be clearer

I think this is why I dislike the whole concept of "Traitors" (caveat I have not watched this at all). It seems to be all about betraying trust.
