Had the chance to illustrate for Quanta again, and got to draw one of my favorite animals: sharks! This is for “Shark Data Suggests Animals Scale Like Geometric Objects” by Joanna Thompson. It was really fun to focus on all sorts of species, from the large Whale Shark to the small Spiny Dogfish

Ich verstehe wenn das plötzlich kommt oder ihr traurig seid. Das Zwischenmenschliche war immer mega wholesome und das werde ich auch vermissen, aber ich brauch etwas Abstand für meine Mentale und körperliche Gesundheit. Aber dw: der Shop bleibt weiter offen und es wird auch neue Produkte geben!

Ich hab spätestens bei der Dokomi dieses Jahr gemerkt das ich wirklich eine Pause brauch :,3 Ich hab Wochen gebraucht um mich zu erholen. Ich hab die letzten Jahre zwar schon die Anzahl der Messen stark reduziert (dieses Jahr warens nur 3) aber ich muss erstmal noch diesen Schritt weiter gehen.

The world often feels like it isn't made for freelancers who aren't in a pairing. Paying taxes on my own, healthcare on my own, tabling and traveling on my own, not having any of those burdens shared can make life much more expensive. I'm doing well, but well means paying more for everything!

When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"

The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
