“Solid” is a very powerful song and “Better Be Good To Me” has always been one of my Tina faves. one will get my vote, altho I fear they’re both underdogs here.

shame on you Tom for putting “Release Yourself” and “Centipede” in the same group. “Centipede” is a trip, but I gotta go with the Aleem twins and Leroy Burgess for being more of that elevated Paradise Garage-core.

tough group, thought I was going to vote for the everlasting Isleys and one of the most-sampled tracks ever, but I let the comments sway me: yes of course I’m going for seconds with the Gap Band. their was such a defining sound in the early 80s, that Thick Layer of Steaming Sound
