Pretty wild that Trump is threatening to federalize National Guard troops during a government shutdown. Forget the authoritarian overreach for a moment. He'd also be migrating them from funded payroll budgets to frozen ones.

I can't imagine anything more political than having to navigate the legal system (from prison) in order to prove your innocence. If you can't do it to their satisfaction, they can kill you. And only the governor can save you?

Charlie Kirk made a career dehumanizing people to a degree that put their lives in danger. His words placed targets on their backs and may have encouraged some to take their own lives.
We'll never know the extent of the damage he did, but it *was* political violence.

Spare me the selective outrage.

Some guy in a pickup did a drive-by pepper spray attack at our Gaza rally today.
He hit one person in the eyes, and he sped so dangerously close to the curb, he could have easily clipped someone.

If Texas gerrymandering is wrong, then retaliatory gerrymandering by California is also wrong.

Clearly, 7 only has an appetite for numbers that are two away from it. Notice how 8 was unharmed?
So, mathematically, it should be 5 who's afraid of 7. And 6 should feel safe due to 8's survival.

Just so we're clear on the logic of it all.

The so-called infraction he was referring to was the fact that when the walk sign comes on, I like to get into the crosswalk and hold my sign in such a way that the drivers of stopped cars can't ignore the message.

I always clear the crosswalk by the time the walk signal ends.

I helped my nibblings record some commercial parodies. They did one about Harry Potter, and in it, my 10-year-old niece mistakenly misgendered J.K. Rowling.
I have no idea if it was a slip of the tongue, or if she actually thinks Rowling is a man. Either way, I've never been prouder of anybody ever.
