Disabled kids are already extremely vulnerable w/ few resources. To eliminate EVERYONE in this department would just be unconscionable. If this turns out to be true, I hope everyone recognizes that the rhetoric around kids with int. disabilities is EUGENECIST. They DO NOT care about your families.

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

Aw thanks! I had a head start with a premade bisque ceramic. It is a really fun time if you have access to a shop that does it! I believe in exercising all levels of creativity. 💜

It's crazy to me that I didn't know these were native to NA or that they are endangered by poachers! Learn something new every day! I also learned that cultivated varieties sold in reputable plant stores are safe. Please kick all varieties of poachers really hard in whatever place suits. 😌

This is true and they are super endangered by poachers who shovel them up by the hundreds and sell them at flea markets and shit. You should not buy the plants and if you happen to kick the poacher in the shins on accident, no one will hear about it from me.

still amazing to me the number of movies, games, etc. which have Venus Flytrap-based creatures in some form compared to the actual native range of Venus Flytrap, which is like, the great untamed jungles of a few wet pine savannas in North Carolina

I had no idea about this! They are commonly sold at plant shops here (Idaho) with branded packaging. Do you know if those are propagated to be sold or are they also poached? I found this that seems to indicate they probably fit the criteria for cultivated specimens www.fws.gov/story/2020-0...

I had to rush to finish to get to my therapy appointment on time, so I just noticed I forgot to paint the band around his neck holding the leaves. T_T I can correct it if I need to after firing. We'll see. Maybe it will be a happy little accident.
