That's really interesting as I did think I had looked carefully down the wall from all angles.

Just found a second Mervielle du Jour and a 3rd Green-brindled Crescent lurking. I wonder how many I miss. I looked twice but saw this as I was setting up. Need to look even more carefully 😆 #teammoth

A few occasions. Think about it I even said this morning that I shouldn’t worry if the Ravens don’t come today as it is foggy / misty

Bird behaviour is so fascinating and interesting. It dawned on me today that the Ravens don’t come down when it is foggy (wouldn’t have even know they were here except one answered my call from the trees). Crows, Jackdaws come down as normal but not Ravens. I wonder why? #ukbirding

Very sensible Dave 😆 Yes I won’t do it again either. I did do it all at once last year but I didn’t start trapping until half way through the year.

Always wonderful to have a calling Kingfisher brighten up a cold, dark, dank walk! #ukbirding

It's lovely that the Ravens inspire poetry 🥰

I sit on a park bench
a raven lands nearby
its feathers stained with sunlight
I ask it
what do you think of us humans?
our mess?
cities?
wars?
pain?
its wings ripple
its eyes dark moons
blinking
I ask again
can we turn it around?
or are we lost in lore?
the raven stares
then speaks
nevermore

Yes. Cold and clear and no moths yet!

Not been able to read it yet Tom. Not been able to get close enough. Apparently it is probably from Somerset.

Thanks Ruth. It's so interesting how it varies year to year.

Thanks. Taken with an i phone 16 pro. I bought it especially with moths in mind as it has a great macro lens 😁

While setting up the traps for tonight saw this absolutely tiny moth at the bottom of the trap ( obs says Caloptilia honoratella Pale Maple Stilt). I don’t do micros yet but might start next year. I am sure I miss lots of these tiny moths every night! They are very difficult to photograph! #teammoth
