I've received a small set of advance copies of ‘The Edge of Ruin’. Excited that I will have some copies to show at BOP Bristol this weekend.
Opening the box is so nerve racking, but I’m so happy with the job that the printers & binders have done. Exactly as myself and @wayneford.co.uk envisioned it.

There are so many little design touches that the book will reveal.

As ever, all the design choices are based around what helps the subject matter and images. It's been a wonderful process.

Really loved working with @marcwilson.co.uk on his new book The Edge of Ruin. And could not be happier with how it’s turned out — printed in five colours by Team Impression on Munken and Materica papers from GF Smith, and Swiss-bound in an oversized case.

A graveyard in Volary memorialises some of those women known to have died or been murdered on a death march to the city in 1945.
Trude did not find her mother’s name among the memorials. Czech Republic, 2018.

The postcards for the new book have arrived (often the 1st stage of production to be completed).
And maybe, just maybe, tomorrow I might receive a small number of advance copies that I can bring to BOP in Bristol at the weekend!

In January 1945, nearly 1000 female Jewish prisoners, evacuated from the Schlesiersee (Sława) camp, were forced on a death march in western Poland. Czech Republic, 2018.

Sounds great. Have you shown work there?

Getting the list out again.
As well as BOP25 this weekend, I’m prepping for 6 days on location from first thing Monday morning.
Travelling light, everything has to fit into a small backpack for the flight, including camera bag and clothes.
I use minimal gear anyway but this is an extra squeeze :)

Thanks Alfie. It's a great initiative by the Paul at @orielcolwyn.bsky.social in the way they display work during the festival. Library, shop fronts, shopping centres, etc. The public engagement is so good because of this.

That is down to you and your brilliant choice of venue and display. Thank you so much Paul.

Lovely to see a first exhibition of a selection of my new work 'The Edge of Ruin' in Colwyn Bay for The Northern Eye festival, organised by @orielcolwyn.bsky.social
You can see these images on the outside of the town library windows for the month. Thanks to all who helped the install.

Wonderful weekend at @orielcolwyn.bsky.social for Northern Eye festival. Lovely to get to know Peter Caton & his long term work in South Sudan, and Kyle McDougall. My highlight though was the talk and work of Margaret Mitchel, including An Ordinary Eden.
