On average, every 4 years, the ECHR stops the UK removing 1 foreign person.

They want you to demand we leave the ECHR because of this.

I've being saying "told you so" about Brexit for a decade. Don't let them do it to you again. Please listen this time.....

Honestly these people sicken me, they are picking on people trying to live normal lives in society instead of addressing the real causes of the problems in society which is obscene wealth inequality

Hmm good question Monika, the ones who know tend to be a bit sheepish about it. But there a good few who have bunkered down and will never admit they, it it are wrong

👏👏 perfectly summarised. Seems you can fool some people all of the time after all

The people (Tories and Reform) who tell you your rights are safe if we leave the ECHR as they’ll replace them with British laws also told you our trade, borders and NHS was safe if we left the EU because they’d negotiate amazing trade deals, take control of our borders and fix the NHS…..

They have absolutely lost the collective plot, it’s the human costs that are coming that frightens me. All it will really do is make the country worse off literally and societally

There will be another bogeyman or rights to strip away from ordinary people that is holding us back from their imaginary utopia

“Go back to where they came from” doesn’t sound like 1970/80’s National Front at all does it. How far we have fallen, their Brexit is an unmitigated disaster that promised the earth now it’s the latest scapegoat to solve all our problems, immigrants & the ECHR. Be afraid everyone, what’s next??

Things are changing very fast right now, the autocratic lurch to the right amplified by the media is calling the tunes & extreme views/behaviour have been normalised. It’s actually quite frightening, I hope somehow LD’s & Greens find a way of the counter narrative getting amplified too

The greatest trick autocrats ever played was convincing the poor that human rights only benefit foreigners.

Well it has happened.
The leadership of the Conservative&Unionist Party is advocating leaving the ECHR. Not reforming it, or working with other members to alter any rules.
Leave it. Like Putin’s Russia.
I can’t help wondering what those Tories who are rightly proud of 🇬🇧’s support for 🇺🇦 are thinking.

I mean he’s absolutely right once again isn’t he. Davey and Polanski are speaking for the decent British values I have been brought up with right now

One of my extended friends group thinks there is ‘nuance’ when it comes to Trump’s America and that the majority of the US population support him. I imagine he is going to vote Reform so not sure what Badenoch is chasing anyways
martincorner4.bsky.social
It’s sick that there are people out there who support this horror
martincorner4.bsky.social
What does it say about the UK that our 2 traditional parties of power with Reform are chasing this ugly politics of hatred to win votes. It’s nothing to do with making the country better. The billionaires are playing on innate bigotry like an old fiddle to keep their grip on power and money

One of the many depressing discussions I tried to have pre & post referendum with friends/family was explaining (from position of working in global supply chains) that regulatory alignment made things cheaper for the consumer & encouraged via SM/CU investment in UK. They wouldn’t believe me 🤦‍♂️

Add this to the list of things Farage is spectacularly wrong about and despair that so many people think he’s the saviour of the UK! He would wreck it as fast as Trump is wrecking the US

Javier Milei had to beg a bail-out and already needs another. Argentina's economy is in a tailspin. Gov't bonds and peso in freefall. People starving, throwing rocks at him.

Farage last year: "He's amazing. It's Thatcherism on steroids. Cutting and slashing expenditure. That's leadership."
