Movie: Ghost Ship
Year: 2002

i think i’m in the minority that actually enjoy this movie. it’s not perfect and the story gets crossed eyed a few times but it’s fun and the twist was pretty cool!

An honor to receive the endorsement of
of nearly a dozen Black clergy leaders in Crown Heights today, including Bishop Orlando Findlayter.

I’m grateful for their support, and this powerful and humbling prayer.

Movie: Final Destination Bloodlines
Year: 2025

a really good entry into the franchise and a bittersweet goodbye to one tony todd. it’s got its faults and the acting sometimes is blah but it’s well rounded and finishes strong.

Heartbreaking: Neo-soul legends Angie Stone and D’Angelo both passed away in 2025, just 7 months apart. Stone died in March at 63. D’Angelo died today at 51. They shared a son together. An entire generation’s soundtrack, gone. Rest in power to both 🕊️💔

RIP. thank you for the decades of music. for adding soul to my childhood and beyond. for music that brought so many so much joy.

gone but never forgotten. you live through your music forever.

so fortunate to have seen him live. just exceptional.

what a loss.

Very sad news…

The incredible D’Angelo has died.

A pioneer of the neo-soul movement, he was 51.

His musical legacy continues to have a massive impact today.

This means that his son, Michael, has lost both his mother, Angie Stone, and his father within just a matter of months.

who would think that a doll could cause this much chaos!? it’s a classic for a reason. it’s absurd and many times i laugh a time but it’s a good time always.

The price increases will be staggering for millions of Americans. This is why I am standing strong in this fight.

"She was meant to live long past that, I would have thought. More accurately, to my own heart, she was supposed to outlive me, which is both absurd and understandable — and I feel no need to reconcile that contradiction."

More than a decade ago, I sat down with @marcmaron.bsky.social in his garage to tape something new called a podcast. This time, he came to me to record his last episode.

We talked about the power of conviction, decency in an age of division, and the true story of America.

Police officers who publicly declare that they’ll quit if a mayoral candidate they dislike wins the election are (1) usually bluffing—sure buddy, toss away that paycheck and pension—and (2) exactly the sort of cops cities would be better off without, ones who don’t see themselves as public servants.

Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire was just beautiful. The hurricane scene. The public execution under the spotlight in the theater. The barren blood in Romania due to the despair of war. Ughhh so good. Can’t wait for the new season now.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that

“I don’t think there’s anything that’s gonna get me into heaven. I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound. […] I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to make heaven.”

Movie: The Final Destination

funny to watch one of the best in the series to easily the worst in the series. the kills are weak and it’s way too comical. probably all that 3D nonsense. don’t love this one and can totally be skipped.
