A glimpse into 2025!

These are a mix of projects that I'm either actively working on at the moment, or want to pay attention to over the next year

Pirates, dragons, mermaids, superheros, inventors and more await!

#writesky #booksky
Image is a collage set over a background of green overlaid on an image of a forest.
Photos in the collage include a pair of hands reaching towards each other over an ocean wave, a pirate ship coming out of a cloud of fog, a dragon flying over a mountain range, a pair of steampunk-esque goggles around someone's neck, a neon sign that says "Girls just wanna have fun", and a figure leaning over the edge of a dinghy as someone coming out of the water grips their face. There are texts boxes above that read 2025 Project Sneak Peaks

Since Link is banned, his mutual aid Fridays have gone with him. This was one of the most altruistic things I’ve seen anyone on this site do.

In light of this, I’m gonna try to fill the gap.

Drop your mutual aid requests under this thread and I will repost them for as long as I can.

Authors, in the interest of helping readers spot gen ai 'authored' books, how many novels do you publish a year?

I publish one 80-100k+ word (epic fantasy) novel, and I can only do that because I drafted 8 novels before I started publishing any. 📚💙

Periodically re-upping this b/c alas, things ain't great overall. Acute needs are all met, and I hate passing around the hat for myself, but I'd rather be like "hey, if I could fund another month while I still have savings and budget, that's MUCH more comfortable" than panic, y'know?

Speaking of unemployable, I'm not in anywhere near as tight a squeeze as I was this time last year, but it costs me about $1K for living expenses each month and that do put a squeeze on things. So if you've got any to spare and feel like helping out, my tip jar is always open: ko-fi.com/jazzelves

Werewolf packs are actually just giant family packs made up of anyone who needs or wants to be there, actually
Image reads: "Let me talk about werewolves for a second. If there was a werewolf in your neighborhood, they’d be that family of 10 kids always roughhousing outside and their house is the one all the neighborhood kids go to hang out at because Mr. Werewolf and Mrs. Werewolf are the Cool Parents that their kids find really embarrassing."

Cover of the book Name Her Holy on an eReader. Tropes called out are-

Trans fem Valkyrie
Found family
A dead god rising from the grave, nbd
Chronically ill chosen one
Oath swearing as a lesbian love language
Slowest of slowburns

Cover art:

Book cover art for Name Her Holy by Aubrey Ennis. The cover has two women standing against a starry twilight background with a pale sun. At the forefront Kye stands facing forward, one hand held up with a cold flame and billowing black smoke. She is wearing dark purple robes with a high color and gold accents. She has dark wavy brown hair that comes to her chin, tan skin covered in light scars, and pale gray eyes. Behind her Jude stands in profile, a head taller than Kye. She is in leather armor stamped with meadow floral designs, holding a golden sword etched with light oak leaves. Jude is white, has long auburn hair in a braid with an undercut at the sides. She has a long scar across her nose and freckles on her cheeks. The sun rises behind her. A border of flowers and stars creates an arch above them with a deep purple background.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL LESBIAN DAY!!! From these two baby gays! (And from me 🌈👋🏻)

The Incorruptibles is a middle grade book (ages 10–14), so the romance is very sweet and wholesome and kid friendly. 🥰 Hope you give it a chance if you’re looking for inclusive fantasy boarding school books!

With fancy flourishes, the image has a photo of a person with short hair against a red background.

Text reads: "Meet the Team- Editor - Nicole - she/he/they @@faerywhimsy.bsky.social " With the same flourishes, this image reads "About - Nicole Field was the editor of Happiness in Numbers, the first anthology with a focus on polyamorous stories. It was, and still is, the only polyamorous anthology to de-center sex. As a novelist, Nicole has won the John Preston and Pauline Reage awards.

They are polyam and ace, with a focus for works across the spectrum of gender and sexuality." Again with fancy flourishes, the text reads "Wants to see: Polycules inclusive of aro, ace and queerplatonic relationships -
Aspec stories centering neurodiverse characters -
Kinky aro fuckbuddies OR
Kinky relationships depicted without sex"

November is Trans Awareness Month. But that title seems ill-fit to current politics, so I chose a better one for the Itch book bundle I'm hosting Nov 1-14.

Authors, if your MC is trans (yes including nonbinary!) and your book meets the criteria bellow, let me know and I'll DM you the sign up form!
Trans People Take on The World Itch Bundle

Background: trans flag

Text: Eligibility & Genre:
At least one Main Character is trans (yes this includes nonbinary!)
Plot-central trans (and LGBTQIA+) themes are welcome, but not required.
Your MC combatting transphobia is welcome, but not required.
MC's who are incidentally trans solving murders, defending their kingdom, curing cancer, fighting a zombie apocalypse etc are very welcome. (So SFF, Thriller/ Mystery/ Crime/ Historical/ Drama etc.)
Romance and NSWF involving a trans MC is welcome.

Categories: Adult Fiction, novellas and full length novels.
