I browsed this as a teacher, but it makes for a good reading list from families to adults too.

Me: concerned about the designated area in Melbourne's CBD permitting police to pat down search ANYONE, and search bags -subjecting our streets to airport levels of security- for 6 MONTHS, being vulnerable to racial profiling.

Pauline Hanson: ban burqa's!

Me:🤦

Correction: she's a politician.
Australia’s senate on Tuesday suspended the right-wing lawmaker Pauline Hanson for wearing a burqa in Parliament, a political stunt she staged for a second time to push for a national law banning the garment from public spaces.
Australian Senator Suspended for Stunt of Wearing a Burqa in Parliament
Pauline Hanson, the head of the far-right One Nation party, wore the garment as a prop to push legislation to bar the garment in public places.

Good plan.

FYI Melbourne peeps. 'Designated area' is what the cops did when nazis were parading around the CBD trying to recruit racists to join the NSN during the 'March for Australia' rally.

Granting this for six months to 'stop knife crime' sounds like trying to open a jammed door with dynamite.

With the upcoming itch creator day, I've been collecting sales/bundles with trans books and/or by trans creators that will happen on the 28th so you can get nice books cheaper and the authors get more of your cash. If you have any more recs, please feel free to let me know! #samreads

Felt like the first hot day I've taught this summer. Students came in from play time with red faces, sat slumped, and two classes needed the aircon on to cool them down enough to focus. It was only 25 degrees in Melbourne 🫠

We'll adjust 😉. It hasn't been warm much yet!

My housemates and I don't own any cats, so both of mum's get plenty of my attention when I visit. As do some neighbourhood cats, the kind that walk up to you and meow at you for homage in the street.

Had a nice weekend with family. We caught up, had dinner with & admired extended family's new home. Went on some nice walks together, then chilled at mum's, watching her cats chomp flies, play in boxes or lie in an elegant 'look at me' fashion, summoning humans to fuss over him on the ironing board.

There are plenty of things I think (Aussie) Labour & our Prime Minister can & need to do better. But the PM telling The Assembly, a group of autistic journalists (& ABC tv series) they can address him however they're comfortable while interviewing him, including 'Albo'; he gets points for that.

Fair call.
I seem to be that one person who hits a wall no one else hits, and no one else understands why. Or I stuff it up because I overlooked factors a/ b/ c, which my ADHD is really good at 'helping' me with.

Probably the same law that when the photocopier isn't working and you ask someone to help, its suddenly fine 😉

I've just had yet another case of tech thing that absolutely refused to work the first day I tried it, but today I swear I did the exact same thing and it randomly worked.

I don't know if this is an ADHD thing, or a tech randomly hates/ likes me thing. Anyone else find tech like this?

We sure can. With any luck there'll be a CEO change in the near future 🤞. (For Proton. For here, I'll jump to NorthSky as soon they open 😉).
November 21, 2025 at 7:43 AM
That was my second choice, though having now changed my email address for all 50+ log ins, I wouldn't switch again unless proton mail fuck up.

P.S. looks like my Google Form alternative for the Itchio bundles I host will be Tally Form. They're not quite as pretty, but similar to create forms with, and are European based and under European privacy laws, which I trust more.
