I think all artists want this, but I’d kill for a year with no need to hustle and instead can just focus on making new experimental work

Williams was a photographer for Jet magazine. He took the photo himself. The OG selfie. Iconic.

Orangeburg, South Carolina, 1956
Young Black man in a patterned shirt leans over a metal water fountain labeled “WHITE ONLY,” drinking directly from it. His gaze meets the camera, capturing a bold act of defiance against segregation during the Jim Crow era.

i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking

I've been very reluctant about creating this, but it's something I needed to do. If anybody is able to help, whether it's through donations or sharing this - I would truly appreciate any support given.

(I am incredibly stressed out right now)

They're actively targeting creators who call in & banning them, making it even more important to call if you're a customer & not a creator

Tell them they shouldn't be dictating how you get to spend the money you put your blood, sweat, and tears into earning

A bunch of nasty foes you might encounter along your way :
Sketchbook pages depicting a few fantasy inspired ennemies. from top left to bottom right : a tiny wizard, a great harpy covered in gold jewelry, a fly-guy thief, a bullfroag in armor with an axe, a regular harpy, a barbarian toad, a frog assassin with a scar on his face and a classic goblin bandit.

another commission for @adomania.bsky.social, their wonderful faun Lazarus! thank you for the opportunity to draw this boy again ✨
#art
shoulders-up digital painting of a young-looking faun, watching the viewer from behind his hands. he has light skin that fades into a tawny gradient on his forehead, shoulder-length wavy auburn and white hair with the color split down the middle, and large ram's horns that curl out and then in towards his chin. the top side of the horns is brown, with filigree carvings in it, while the bottom side is dark blue like a starry sky. the horns are shattered in a few places, the shards held in place close to each other as if by magic. the faun's eyes have dark sclera, blue irises and bright gold pupils; so does the third eye in the middle of his forehead, embedded into the bone with a few dark cracks around it spreading down the faun's face. all three eyes are looking at the viewer with an intense expression from behind the gracefully held long-clawed fingers, the faun's lips in a slight smile.
the painting is done in a semi-realistic style, with the color scheme that is almost iridescent.

✨ HOW TO: support artists for $0.00 ✨

- leave a like!
- repost their work - more eyes!!
- comment on their posts! (an emoji goes a long way!)

all of this means so much to artists and helps immensely!! just a reminder that support does NOT always have to be financial 🥰🤍✨
