Honestly I just don't like it when people use rationality as a justification for someone's actions. "This person is a rational agent, so what they did was rational, and because it was rational, that's why they did it". Very circular.

Japanese sea captains are only allowed to marry Japanese citizens. This is one of the three major reasons I am not yet a success. Along with, of course, my troublesome uncle who broods in Malta with his confidants, and the bad blood my role in the 2008 financial crash caused.
