Latest England COVID-19 hospital bed occupancy up.
COVID-19 positive tests up.
COVID-19 deaths up.
COVID-19 cases up.
Data source @ukhsa.bsky.social
Why?
Limited vaccine eligibility, waning immunity, lower priority by leaders, mixing in poorly ventilated, cramped spaces. Scant use of face coverings.

The fundamental disconnect is that the steps required by both science and patient safety are the steps hospital infection control leaders foolishly dismissed in 2020.

They have to choose between killing patients, and admitting a very big mistake.

Turns out their egos are worth more than your life.

"Masks prevent the transmission of respiratory viruses. The science is clear," writes Iris Gorfinkel. "The standards are in place. A health policy that reacts to hospitalizations and deaths falls below the long-held standard of do-no-harm. Policies that are enacted only once hospitalizations are high do the opposite.

Instantly got a post showing the face in a screenshot because the people I followed hadn’t used his name.

Just got so very tired of seeing that fatuous idiotic face pretending to be intelligent and ‘hard’ I’ve muted the T word for a bit.

On the BBC News @ Six, Clive Myrie enthusiastically says that Gazans are returning home.

They're not returning home Clive because their homes have been destroyed. They're returning to find the rubble where their homes used to be. Significantly different Clive. They're homeless now. 😔

To me, the ongoing pandemic isnt JUST about science. It is about morals and ethics.
It is acting on the evidence and the HARM that sars2 is causing. There is evidence of harm.
There is ONGOING evidence of harm
The is evidence of ONGOING transmission of sars2
CLEAN THE AIR
Do no harm

It’s quite difficult listening to an audiobook when the author is unaware how to pronounce a word he uses in nearly every sentence.

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.
SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

'Thor's stone' rising above Thurstaton [=Thorstein+tūn] Heath (Wirral), the latter used for common grazing since time began. The stone’s encircled by a broken ring of peaty ponds, the result of quarrying - but I can't help thinking of other monuments where the juxtaposition was deliberate

The BBC still furiously peddling the fiction that Trump "railroaded" Netanyahu into a peace deal.

No, the US could have secured a deal any time over the past two years by ending the shipments of bombs.

Washington *chose* to keep the genocide going till Gaza was levelled.

The ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 has been continually driven, from the outset, by an extensive conspiracy of negligence and denial on the part of authorities who are supposedly charged with preserving essential safety in the public realm.

#COVID19
mcollinsmorton.bsky.social
From the start, there was never any attempt by authorities to honestly acknowledge the full extent to which Covid-19 was spreading. Everything was constantly downplayed, to keep the public in a state of delusion regarding what was happening at the time, and what was likely to happen in the future.

I knew Fox News was theater. I just didn't realize it was a repertory theater that recycles actors for different roles.

You'd think a company that had to pay $787,000,000 for deceiving its viewers would be a little more careful about blatantly continuing the practice.
