This! Pretty much everyone E-4 & under we’re getting some sort of food assistance when we were in. Thankfully, when my husband went back in after 9/11, he kept his previous rank, but it was still shit money until he completed all the training & started getting all the good special pays.

It’s not a coincidence that my son asks for stuffed chicken breasts, stuffed with stuffing & served with cranberry & all the fixings. I think he’s programmed to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving in spite of lived in the US his entire life. 😂

We were in the hospital over Thanksgiving - he was a month early, so they kept us for a week. My Mom brought me a plate of turkey dinner. 🩵
