@audacityofdespair.bsky.social
Dramatist, author, apostate newspaperman specializing in artisanal contempt and discerning maledicta. The claim that I am the angriest man in television is faint praise indeed; the second angriest is yelling at an agent because residual checks are late.
Wait. You've conflated ICE with law enforcement.
It is not policing. It is thuggery and fascism. I am entirely content to see ICE defunded and abolished in full. Like yesterday. That has zero to do with the means by which we reform actual policing in America, or fail to.
My point exactly. The framing line was still in the wild, because Fox/R consultants

Which Democratic candidates for office ran on a policy line of defunding the police in the last 5 years?

Kind of wild this woman’s body is still warm, Bill Kristol is out here like this, and we are doing this

The misrule of my country is now so hideous and profound that I am running out of things for which I am as an American rightly proud: Baseball, barbecue, Broadway musicals, African-American music, peanut butter cups & a walk on the streets of any diverse, pluralistic metropolis.

Wish I was joking.

They'll need enough to fill a stadium the size of say, Nuremberg. Someplace outdoors that can be nicely dressed and films really well.

We wish to acquire Greenland.
Lincoln: “No man is good enough to govern another man without that other’s consent. I say this is the leading principle... of American republicanism.”
Ogles: "We are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere."

We have descended to history's trash pit.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

We already had the failed Beer Hall Putsch.
Now we have the new SA on the streets crushing dissent, disappearing and shooting enemies.
When someone finally shoots an ICE agent in reply to this lawless insanity, we go to Kristallnacht.

This is just what we in the entertainment biz call a reboot.
If we had a normal President, he'd express human decency and offer condolences for the MURDERED U.S. citizen under his watch.

Instead, we get a paragraph of propaganda and excuses that put the blame on the victim – a tactic Trump has used on women for decades.

Disgusting.
January 8, 2026 at 12:33 AM
Reposting this.
Anyone still pretending that this rabble of fascists and ammosexuals constitutes professional law enforcement is either a moron, a liar, or in the case of a Trumpist, both.
ICE agents only receive 300 hours of training before they’re turned loose on an unsuspecting public. Cops, get 1200 hours. Hairdressers, on the other hand, need 2400 hours. Make of that what you will.

Unless you're Ashli Babbitt. Then fuck what a U.S. Capitol police officer tells you to do.

The legal standard is that if an officer is in fear for others or himself legitimately he can use lethal force to neutralize the threat. Fleeing or eluding has never been a standard for use of lethal force.
Rep. Wesley Hunt: "The bottom line is this: when a federal officer gives you instructions, you abide by them and then you get to keep you life"

This woman is sick. This is sociopathic.
Noem: "People need to stop using their vehicles as weapons ... it's clear that it's being coordinated. People are being trained"

This killing is overtly a state-sponsored murder. The video is astonishing in its ugly simplicity.

That the Iranian mullahs aren't broadcasting it to the world in direct reply to Trump's fatuous claims about defending nonviolent protestors on the streets of Tehran is simply bad public relations.
They will murder you and put the gun in your hand
Kristi Noem accuses the woman who was killed by ICE in Minneapolis of committing an act of "domestic terrorism"
January 7, 2026 at 11:01 PM
On the other hand, if unarmed Americans are on the streets of say, Minneapolis, it's fine to shoot them in the head. In that circumstance, Trump will immediately call them deserving trash and credit his ICE gangmembers with a clean, fresh kill.
January 7, 2026 at 10:48 PM
We are the shithole nation. From Caracas to Greenland to Minneapolis, we are the problem in the world, we are the source of the tragedy, we are the affront to all human dignity. This is the United States now. We are the evil.
NEWS: In a heartbreaking video, after ICE shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, a woman who was in the same SUV cries out: “They killed my wife. I don’t know what to do."

“We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head,” the distraught woman sobs.

Anyone withnessing the chaos and barbarism of the untrained thugs masquerading as law officers for the last nine months understands ICE is raw human trash gathered into a lawless street gang. That's all. This isn't policing. It isn't legal enforcement. It's just incompetent, undisciplined terror.

Never mind all the charm and talent. That much of Isiah is always onscreen and utterly obvious.

Instead, a last word to let everyone know what isn't evidenced on film: He was an even better person than he was an actor; a warm and gracious delight of a man. Goodbye, friend.
"Whitlock didn’t steal scenes as much as he elevated them, becoming a part of the fabric of storytellers like David Simon and Spike Lee, who knew exactly how to use this stealthy genius,” writes @briantallerico.bsky.social in his tribute to the late Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Weird that Trump keeps running into vice presidents who bristle and balk when you ask them to participate in a coup d'etat.
Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, denounces that the US military attack has the main objective of taking over the Venezuela's natural resources, which was corroborated by Trump during his latest press conference. #VenezuelaInvasion
January 6, 2026 at 5:06 AM
Huh? He had no victims in life until this tinpot dictator gave him the job of victimizing and dehumanizing others whenever possible. Read it again, slowly. Maybe move your lips.

By what right does the United States assert control over Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. Oh right, the Louisiana Purchase from the French in 1803 -- 11 eleven years before the Treaty of Kiel in 1814, when Norway ceded Greenland to make peace in the Napoleanic Wars.

History for me and not for thee.
Miller: “The real question is: by what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? What is the basis of their territorial claim?

“What is their basis of having Greenland as a colony of Denmark?

“The US is the power of NATO.”
January 6, 2026 at 2:17 AM
What we all know with a deep and righteous certitude is that Stephen Miller was that kid that every goddam day had do cede his lunch money to every school bully operant from fourth to ninth grade. I mean, they turned him upside down and shook him for coin.

And now, finally, he wants to get even.
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?

To quote an insightful Marine in the "Generation Kill" narrative, when observing a Baghdad resident shot down by a sniper: "It's too bad. He probably would've loved democracy."
Civilian murders like no one has ever seen. The biggest murders. People say to me, “sir, sir, what took you so long to kill all these innocent people?” The people are so happy
The previous modern standard for murdering people en masse while effecting an arrest warrant involved members of a Waco religious cult (76), or group home occupants (11) in West Philadelphia or the Chicago abode of some Blank Panthers (2 dead, more wounded). Trump now holds the record.

in how many "law enforcement operations" are damn near 100 people killed?

Always wondered about the Cove Fort sign at the front end of I-70 west of Baltimore. Now I know. Of course, as an addendum, I-70 was not supposed to finish at I-695 but instead carve through town and hook up with I-95 east of Canton. Some lady named Mikowski or McClusky fought that shit down, tho.
Maryland’s I-70 wants you to know it’s 2,200 miles to Cove Fort, Utah
The unincorporated community of Cove Fort, Utah, has a few things going for it. One is a historic fort operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Another, perhaps, is a highway sign ...

No notes, save for this: Knowing cops, they will, at the least, go inside the quickee mart and help themselves to free coffee and maybe a donut or two. But not more than that.
When the LAPD arrests a dude at a gas station they don’t take over the gas station and use it to gas up all the cop cars tho
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.
January 5, 2026 at 5:01 PM
I don't want to talk about it.
The Steeler/Ravens game last night was so dramatic, in the worst ways, that even @audacityofdespair.bsky.social seems to be speechless. If he wrote a script that ridiculous, he wouldn't even try to produce it.
Even as a Steelers fan, I have sympathy for Ravens fans. (not a lot).

I don't think there is any historical degradation or inhumanity to which the white supremacist shitheels at the helm of our nation will not now lay claim. Slavery will soon be a beneficient grant by Europe to the world. The Inquisition and the Holocaust will soon be necessary purifications.
On X, a senior U.S. Justice Department official is promoting a post that praises colonization as “one of the greatest things that ever happened to the backwards parts of the world.”👇

Venezuela. Greenland...

Donald Trump is a warmongering, neocolonial maniac. And the rest of the United States government has not the capacity nor the courage to address that reality.
