Dramatist, author, apostate newspaperman specializing in artisanal contempt and discerning maledicta. The claim that I am the angriest man in television is faint praise indeed; the second angriest is yelling at an agent because residual checks are late.
Just another Jewish suburban kid who didn't know how much he needed reggae until Jimmy Cliff and the Harder soundtrack showed up and smacked some stupid from him.

Very sad to see this man pass. Very grateful for his full life, clear voice and true artistry.

To be fair, that one meeting was with someone who he characterized as a communist Jew-hater jihadist who was going to crash New York City to boot.

Go figure.
The entire world is perplexed because the President of the United States appeared cordial in one meeting.

That’s how crazy this timeline is.

I don't think the American military, in this era of instant GPS, mistakenly lands anywhere. This is a purposed affront to another nation's sovereignty and an act of cynical intimidation by some venal shitbirds who somehow are in command of our government.
DOD contractors “mistakenly” landed on a Mexican beach, declared it US property and planted “restricted area” DOD signs, triggering a tense confrontation with armed Mexican forces.

Mexico removed the signs, insisting the area is theirs.

Yet another example of total incompetence.
Pentagon Pete’s War Goons Accidentally Invade Mexico
U.S. “contractors” planted signs declaring that a Mexican beach was U.S. territory.

Honesty wins. Once, when appearing in court, I asked a Baltimore cop if he had an "animus" toward me because of prior reporting.
"I don't know what that means."
"Did I piss you off?"
Before he could answer the judge gaveled, warning me of contempt of court for any future profanity.

Point to cop.
completely outside of politics, this is so charming

"Sir, did you just abuse and insult a journalist for asking a question? And did you publicly call a woman a piggie? Is this the way a U.S. President behaves?"

A reporter who so spoke loses WH credentials, maybe his job if his agency is gutless. But absent such, the entire WHPC is without honor.
November 21, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Goddam right. You do the right thing -- which this republic desperately needs done -- and they pull your credentials. So what? You have a phone and your have your sources. or you should. And you continue to report on this presidency as your colleagues now do outside the Pentagon. Enough dishonor.
while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

U.S. legislators: "Soldiers and sailors, if you are ordered to kill someone and you believe the order is unlawful, don't do it. Remember your oath to The Constitution.
U.S. President: "Kill the legislators."

Am I missing something? Anything at all?
I still have characters left, if so.

Learning to use my goddam coffee maker or, occasionally, following my kid into this Blank Street joint for this matcha shit. Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger.

Do you hear that, voters? You chose this man to lead you in the hopes that he would publicly call women piggies and tell them to shut up. He's done this for you, in your name.

Ain'tcha proud?
Q: What did the president mean when he called a reporter "piggy"?

LEAVITT: Look, the president is very frank & honest with everyone in this room. You'll all seen it yourself. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons the American people reelected this president

Not to kick on Larry Summers when he's down, but once, on an academic panel, I ventured that any economic model that could not provide half the young black men in a major city with legal employ wasn't working well. He replied by lecturing us all on the dangers of communism.

First-rate mind there.

Democratic messaging to our military about killing civilians extrajudicially is too polite. Soliders, sailors and Marines need fair warning that at a future point, a restored military judicial process will review these slayings, and those executing an unlawful order will be subject to that process.
November 20, 2025 at 7:12 PM
The Baltimore Banner, the nation's first major metropolitan online daily non-profit newspaper and a Pulitzer winner only last year, would like a polite word.

Try not to hype things to much even if you're writing opinion pieces, but congrats, sincerely, on the new gig. It sounds quite worthy.

The only revelation left to us is that the federal grand jury didn't actually exist and DOJ prosecutors simply decided to pretend that it does.
🚨BREAKING: Federal prosecutors admitted Wednesday that the grand jury handling the criminal case against former FBI Director James Comey never reviewed or voted on the final indictment used to charge him — a virtually unprecedented revelation that could topple the entire case.
In Stunning Admission, DOJ Says Grand Jury Never Saw Indictment Against Comey

1) Word problem: If 51 percent of one cohort with 100 votes for A and 53 percent of another cohort with 70 votes for A, who did the most to elect A? And would A have been elected if 49 percent of the first cohort supported A?

Addendum:
Likely voters, oldest gens: 75%
Boomers 70%
Xers: 64%
November 19, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Wait I have to do the math again for you. Sigh.
About 33 million of the 43 million voters under the classification 65 and over are boomers. Of the 51 million voters age 45-64, estimated 15M are born between 1959-64.
Total boomer voters probably 48 million nearly a third of the total...

Just stop digging already.
1) AARP membership extends from age 50 to death. This means the AARP is asserting not just for boomers, now age 60-78, but for the voting block of 50-59, which again went for Trump more than any, and those over 78. Not boomers.
2) It's in the AARP interest to hype.

There is not a statistic readily available that you will not fuck up, conflate or otherwise distort in order to luxuriate in your boomer hate.

By "straight up numbers" Trump voters are NOT the vast majority Boomers. Utterly false. Let's do this:

The 65+ cohort of US voters in 2024 totals 43M..

Where is our modern Kafka or Heller when this is so obviously a dark-comic novel?
BREAKING: Prosecutors in the Comey case just told the judge that they’re under orders from the Deputy Attorney Generals’s office not to disclose whether career prosecutors wrote a memo recommending *against* indicting Comey prior to Halligan going to the grand jury.

I didn't mute. I said I was going to because you are literally heaving graphs up as evidence that actually contradict your own absurd claims and nothing is more irritating as argument. Instead, I just hoped you'd just take the hint and go away.
But based on the assholery below, I'm now gonna block.

Even the murderer, the guy who ordered the journalist to be executed and dismembered with a bone saw, looks a bit embarassed for our American president.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
