Dramatist, author, apostate newspaperman specializing in artisanal contempt and discerning maledicta. The claim that I am the angriest man in television is faint praise indeed; the second angriest is yelling at an agent because residual checks are late.

Your cite is farce, fool. Dumping phone logs is not a wiretap. Unlike a Title III tap, It isn't even done in real time like monitoring a number and recording phone use contemporaneously. This was done years later. He was lying. As are you.

Not a cop, mook. Ex-newspaperman. But I covered that beat. in the days when we lived in a vaguely fact-based world.

This is probably the only time I'm gonna repost a cop, but yeah, I agree. the fuck?

As basic question from an ex-police reporter: Can some of our journalists detail the training regimen all these new federal agents receive? The lethal incompetence involving use of force and perameters of the 4A suggests they are just handed guns, masks and badges and told to go fuck people up.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
The institutional shame has to be overwhelming.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
This isn't even that. Dumping phone logs for calls prior to and during suspected criminal activity is rote investigative procedure and requires noting beyond a simple subpoena. It's pre-9/11 standardized police work.

Just a guy from Baltimore. Go O's.

You do not need a warrant to dump phone logs. This is horseshit by someone comfortable operating in the post-fact world of manufactured outrage and hype.
A simple subpoena gets basic call info and it is rote procedure for an investigator looking into any criminal or potential criminal activity.

You can't do either without a warrant. There is no public evidence or reliable reports indicating that Jack Smith sought or obtained court-issued warrants or subpoenas to trace or track GOP senators' phone conversations.

At Bondi hearing, Sen. Josh Hawley calls the pulling of phone toll records "tapping," which is an entirely different thing. You can't "tap" phone calls from 2021 in 2023, you can just look at what numbers they called.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
You act like facts are optional. You arrived here with a pallet of absolute horseshit regarding these phone logs. You are post-fact and a rube about the subatance. And easily blocked as no good comes from engaging a foaming devotee of hype.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
That isn't this at all. Not remotely.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
They were wiretapped? Only if you are a submoron or rube. This doc says nothing of the sort.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
A simple subpoena for call logs is not the result of some new surveillance-state statute. It is basic and necessary police work. And it is there for a nation of laws or a lawless nation to invoke.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
This is submoronic. The basic tools of law enforcement -- and checking call logs is utterly basic -- cannot and will not be revoked or made to disappear because bad people come to power. The only remedy there is to vote.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
Horseshit and lies are the new metric in American life. This is a post-fact world now.

Your kind will go far. You clearly lapped the dishonesty up with a spoon. As intended.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
This stuff isn't even new. A dump of phone records prior to and during whatever criminal activity you are probing requires no new-fangled statute. It's been obtainable by any cop for years with a simple subpeona. No judicial review required.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
And further, when criminal activity occurs and is being investigated -- and Jan. 6 certainly contained criminal actions aplenty -- dumping cell calls prior and during the incident is basic and standard investigative technique.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
Fucknuts, basic data on phone calls DOES NOT track phone conservations. It does not require a court order. It is not a wiretap. It is not even a more detailed look at phone metadata involving location or text info. All that WOULD require judicial review. For who called who? A simple subpeona gets it
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
It is not a problem. When police have cause to seek a subpeona or court order, it is their fucking job. Looking at phone records in an investigation of criminal activity is legitimate and basic. It requires a subpeona. And proceeding to anything more intrusive requires a court order/judicial review.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
Listening to Josh Hawley whine today about how his phones were tapped (they were not), it's clear that so many of these Republican shitheels think they have the right not to be investigated. There's no such right. If a legal question arises, we are all a subpeona away from records being reviewed.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
I think they are pulling from the streets, up to and including former law enforcement who washed out of other agencies. And I think the training regimen is minimal.
audacityofdespair.bsky.social
I didn't block anything. They must have deleted. It was a simple aphorism telling everyone to speak what is in their heart and be themselves. So....

ICE is made up of men who have failed the human test and have nothing of value to offer this nation.

Adults with decency and options and possibilities don’t do this shit.

With regard to political content, the entire industry is at present in a frightened crouch.

I think I am in my fifth decade of voting and I have rarely if ever voted for a candidate in a general election for president who fully appealed to me. But I always vote and it always matters who wins and who loses. That's reality.
