When I encounter Robin Williams or his work, since his death, I get hit with a lot of different feelings but I usually end up back at:

a) we are so lucky to have had him at all

b) I hope he knew what a huge impact and difference his life & work meant.

So many of us miss him so much.

Really tho, the "I saw a vision of God" stuff is their admission that "when I say God, I mean me. Myself and my personal bullshit provide the limits and totality of the God I proclaim and worship."

And I'm like, you should really see somebody about that. We have professionals for those delusions.

Their God is generally either a very limited and infantalizing version of Santa Claus OR a naysaying egotistical voyeuristic abusive father figure who views mortals as his own personal action figures.

But there is the awareness of the idea of sex.

So... an eternity aware of sex and how many, tho not all, human minds find some amount of sex nurturing and essential to their baseline happiness... but totally unable to have it.

We're back at "their heaven is actually hell tho."

Either their reply is generally "well, there's no sex" or "you can have sex with your monogamous spouse" and I'm always like, yeah, I don't think you've considered how many (tho not all) humans would find an eternity either denied sex or forced into eternal monogamy eventually literally maddening.

To take things from a prurient angle for a moment, if I may, one of my other lines of inquiry when evangelicals wax rhapsodically about their heaven is... what about sex?

Cuz they are famously uncomfortable with sex.

They don't have great answers for that approach either.
