Shot of a Coast Guard officer apparently serving Kristi Noem's aide-to-camp, lugging her $2500 Goyard GM tote. Three sleeve stripes so she's a Cdr, equivalent to a Lt. Colonel in the Army I think

Has anyone written up a good historical overview of the history of Belgrade - Subotica high speed line *before* Vučić?

The 4 track corridor between Belgrade and Novi Sad was built decades ago, and the Milošević government claimed they were building high speed rail between Subotica and Dmitrovgrad

Wow. A jesi možda primijetio omjer tablica?

Unless there are any more issues, this should work for now for Belgrade to Subotica (if we ignore the politics, keeping Novi Sad closed etc.)

However, I don't see how you run to Hungary once their section opens, if you have only one track available in Subotica.

Basically, out of the 6 faulty stations they are stopping at 3: Bačka Topola, Žednik and Subotica. The СОКО high speed service stops only at Bačka Topola and Subotica (out of 6 faulty stations)

What this means in practice - in Subotica only one track can be accessed by going around the station building, the same track used by the Subotica - Szeged service.

This news clip is surreal. The crew interviews an opposition politician at Petrovaradin station when a citizen starts a verbal fight with him. Then the station staff try to kick the crew out. Aligns with the heightened tensions I witnessed when traveling around these stations a few weeks ago.

We now know how 🇷🇸 got around opening the Novi Sad - Subotica line without permits for 6 stations (Subotica, Bačka Topola, Žednik, Naumovićevo, Kisač and Novi Sad) - the line opened without access to station buildings.

It's still unclear whether Novi Sad will be used with station building closed.
Šest stanica nije u funkciji
Iako je Vučić svečano otvorio prugu do Subotice, šest železničkih stanica još nema upotrebne dozvole, otkriva dokument Infrastrukture železnice

Ajde javi ako primijetite nešto. A još morate na stari prijelaz jer novi još nije otvoren 💀

I'm not so sure cumulatively. Between Turkey and Bulgaria/Greece there are a only 5 crossings total: Malko Tarnovo, Lesovo, Kapitan Andreevo, Kastanies and Kipoi. Other than Kapitan Andreevo (4M crossings per year), they are all relatively small. Comparatively, Bajakovo alone handles more than 4M.

They have fired the staff of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report and 70 Epidemic Intelligence Service officers, who are disease detectives that respond to outbreaks around the world.

I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous it is to dismantle our disease surveillance infrastructure.

LPV 7703 pretty full from Ljubljana to Zagreb tonight. This is a regular local SŽ train extended to Zagreb. Even with all local stops it's competitive with express service due to no border dwelling for locomotive change. Lots of families with kids. We love to see it!
