I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

I know not everyone is who they thought they would be under a fascist, authoritarian regime. That's okay. But it's time to do more than react and post about it. It's time to get organized—including mapping or creating lines of support and defense in your community.

This worksheet can help us prepare for Trump's military interventions at the neighborhood level.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

does anyone remember the name of a short film/video project that was like a woman walking through a city at night in heels and dress, but she's wearing a helmet that's just one big mirror? and it catches the way people react to her strangely. been trying to refind it for a while but never can

Emmy-award winner Hannah Einbinder: "I have trouble with the term 'liberal Zionism' because I think it absolves the identifier of reckoning with the necessary elements for the ideology to thrive."

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?
mollymoss.bsky.social
i think you're both right and that's why it bugs me, its like a way to allow yourself to indulge in behavior bc you can just say you're making fun of the movie
mollymoss.bsky.social
i think once you get past the kitsch, its a deeply misogynistic movie! i think its misogyny is very impotent but i think i just dont enjoy it now that its so famous

theres so many other "bad" movies you could be screening, ill take an ed wood over the room any day
mollymoss.bsky.social
hot take but it's 2025. i think we can stop playing the room in theatres. the joke died a long time ago

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Miyazaki survived the bombing of Utsunomiya as a child. His family escaped in a car, but left a neighbor and her daughter behind to save themselves. Miyazaki regrets this, and said this has stayed with him and shaped his film making. He hopes his audience will learn the courage he lacked in 1945.

the thing i hate the most about this argument is that it doesn't work. it observably has not been working. capitulating on trans rights, immigrant rights, abortion, does not win elections, it loses them incredibly consistently.

this is a loser mentality and always will be
talleststone.bsky.social
I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.
mollymoss.bsky.social
which groups would you feel comfortable sacrificing, in that case? which are and aren't worth protecting?
