Crazy week with the group ride, live event and a day trip to LA but I still made it to pilates

And God said, " I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the people of California. Never again will I allow the NIMBYs to forbid the building of housing along transit lines."

SB 79 was signed into law and god shined a brilliant rainbow over the construction of an eight story apartment building

All the neighbors came out to the street to embrace each other and rejoice in this new day for California. Hallelujah!

Excellent choice for the SB 79 signing celebration. Can't wait for this stop and all the mid-coast trolley expansion stations to see their potential

San Diego is preparing 2 community plan updates impacted by SB79: Clairemont and College. These are my rough sketches of the half-mile radii around trolley stops. Yellow is where the city wanted to keep single-family zoning.

MAJOR NEWS: @GavinNewsom signed SB 79, my bill allowing more housing near public transit — rail, subway, rapid bus.

It’s a huge step for housing in California. It’ll create more homes, strengthen our transit systems & reduce traffic & carbon emissions.

Thank you, Governor!

We fucking did it!!

[VICTORY ALERT] Governor Newsom has signed SB 79, which will make it legal to build multi-family housing near high quality transit!

We were very happy to get a new anniversary date to celebrate when we got married. Our dating anniversary just happened to fall on 3/17 but we never cared about St. Patty's and it was kind of a joke. So what's our wedding anniversary? October 7th.

ah yeah I did that the other day when I wasn't getting through. Still makes a difference! thank you!

As you see propaganda from the mayor’s office about the Convention Center remodel, remember this:
awalkerinla.bsky.social
Many people don't know that LA is the host city. If the Olympics go over budget, here's who pays:

💰 First $270 million: City of LA
💰 Next $270 million: State of California
💰 Next $270 million: City of LA

For perspective, LA currently has a billion-dollar hole in its budget. It's a huge gamble
bahrad.bsky.social
I legit had no idea that the City of LA itself is the host. I think a lot of people would have been a lot more hesitant to buy in if they were aware of the degree of risk being undertaken by the city itself absent a real plan on burden sharing by non city hosts.

and thank you, @mtborq.bsky.social for the morning reminder. friends don't let friends allow Newsom to veto sb 79!
monicadlc.bsky.social
I actually got through to a representative right away this time! Make the call!
volts.wtf
Reminder that @governor.ca.gov is reportedly considering vetoing SB79, the best housing bill to clear the CA legislature in decades.

It would be a *disaster*, substantively & for Newsom's political future. Really hope he doesn't self-immolate.

Tell him!

Very funny to be dressed like this at a meetup of urbanist nerds, probably 90% men lol. But we must make urbanism hotter and I'm doing my part🫡

This huge bulked guy approached me at the gym with the most cliche come on, "I was just watching you and you are looking really good" It was so bad I just had to laugh
