Hello new followers! Quick intro. I'm Chris, a disabled Amazon bestselling author who writes fantasy/spec, dabbles in astrophotography and loves English folklore. I wrote a series about a show train which got published by HQ/HarperCollins and I also wrote a book about people hunting mimics.

Heartbroken that, per his social media accounts, Drew Struzan has left us. His poster and album art was quite simply shorthand for imagination for countless young people.

E.T. Adventure poster, 1990. I still have one of these hanging in my childhood bedroom.

Star Wars Special edition triptych, 1997. I remember seeing all of these in the paper as each film was re-released and just felt a burst of energy those mornings.

To my horror/delight, a deer jumped out in front of me, ran to it's young and led them deeper into the forest. Sadly i had turned off the camera just before, wiping the settings, so the shots i got sucked. But wow, it really was something.

Wild that people are dunking on the Tron franchise because the latest stuff. 1's vfx was so revolutionary it put Disney animation into depression. Legacy's aesthetic was fresh & soundtrack went so hard it could have been added to the periodic table as a new element. Leto sucks but don't lie.

Been waiting a long time to share this. My husband's band, Mit Hiss, just released their first album. It's a collaboration with a close friend, and it's been a long time in the making. In the last track, I sneak in with my flute.

It's perfect music for writing to, and generally just awesome stuff.

Two nights of 3:45am alarms, blazing full moon lighting the sky like daytime and washing out the light of everything else, comet included. Then two days of post-processing battles, as comet processing is maddeningly tricky.

I so wanted to like Alien Earth but it's dropping off for me. The thing about the Xeno is that, like any movie monster, it should never be fully revealed in hard light. Because no matter how great the design is, seeing it strutting down a white-lit corridor makes it just look goofy.

It's it me or is there rarely anything coming out these days that's remotely exciting? Since I got a steamdeck it's basically a Stardew Valley/Binding of Isaac/Vampire Survivors/Fallout 4 machine. I'm finding older stuff just more enjoyable to go through.
