Wow I wonder what even was the point of changing that… I remember on my first playthrough back when the game was new getting stuck for like a day because it looked like I should be able to do them in either order and I wanted to do Wind first, and yet I couldn’t find Makar anywhere

A2 has laws, they’re just fixed per-engagement. They also have stricter punishments for breaking them.

I like both games but I prefer how they function in 1 as an element of the narrative- They’re fickle and random and annoying because they’re a child trying to cling to control over the world

Trying to imagine what possible out there could be for this situation and I think without re-rolling the laws or using Antilaws you’d have to clear the entire map with Break/Doom/KO, as if the game wasn’t bias towards Viera Assassins enough already lmao

A2 can’t be the best of both worlds because it has obscenely restrictive access to gear that teaches skills, completely flattening the best part of the three games until you’re quite a way through the game

I was also under the impression that Sahelanthropus never had functioning AI in-game, or could even be piloted, rather that it was just Psycho Mantis puppeteering it

Yeah, I understand that part, I just wish there was a cleaner bridge between Sahelanthropus and the original Metal Gear, although now that I think about it I guess the explanation there would be that since it was developed after Huey was ejected it wouldn’t have any trace of Granin’s design.

But that was always going to be a shitshow anyways, they made their bed in MGS3 when Granin’s scrapped Metal Gear blueprints that were sent to Huey were obviously supposed to be REX

I disagree about the sneaking suit purely because it bugs me that they alluded to Raiden’s sneaking suit before Solid Snake’s. It should have been a clean linear progression. Kind of like how it bugs me that Peace Walker, ZEKE, and Sahelanthropus all look way more modern than the OG Metal Gear lol
