I'm an Ashkenazi Jew descended from German immigrants. They can record me all they want, there will never be a time I regret taking the stances I do, for my family, for my history, for the common decency of all mankind. 💪

They keep telling us to vote and I always do but what the hell am I supposed to do when that doesn't work and my rights are taken away?

"Oh well, at least we tried"?

Fuck no. Not the country I signed up to die for. I'll fight until I can't but man. I'm tired.

I have a trip planned for next week and everything we're going to is closed because of the shutdown. My boyfriend suggested we just reschedule for next year and I gotta be honest, I'm scared of what the police state is gonna look like in a year...

guess who just rolled her "fixed" ankle :^)

my retinaculum has left the building again

Also I've tried peroneal sublux braces, they just hurt more

The only relief I found was surgery but I hate surgery and my "fixed" ankle still occasionally hurts

The Mailbox That Spits Bones At People
A four panel comic strip
A mailbox stands by a bush, the door open, drippy text says "the mailbox that spits bones at people"

in the second panel there is a bone in the mailbox.

In the third panel several bones are shooting out of it.

In the fourth panel bones are flying everywhere and there's a big pile of bones on the ground. More drippy text says "That's all it does!"

I would pay great money to own this IRL

The biggest lesson I had to learn was also the hardest:

You have to not care.

You still have to do a good job, and should care about your quality of work, but living/eating/breathing games will kill you.

Do your job and go home.

Those of you who have been in gamedev for 5yrs+

What do you wish you knew before you joined the industry? What life lesson would you pass down to someone just joining today?

apropos of nothing, if you want help getting The Sims 2, which was made before EAxis was bought by human rights violators, running on your PC, let me know.

I'm one of the few still making mods for TS2 and currently run it on Win 10 with no issues.

If you only read one story today, make it @nicolecarpenter.bsky.social's breakdown of the Saudi-backed EA buyout, which includes thoughts from multiple business analysts and experts who explain what the $55B deal could mean for EA workers, its video games, and the wider industry.

Essential reading.

Yup. It was the same with note-taking. My AP Government teacher required a certain number of notes per page of assigned reading, but I already knew the stuff, I didn't need to take notes on it.

No two students learn the same way.

They used my AP Euro DBQ as an example of a score of 5 paper, according to my teacher.

I got a perfect score on the writing portion of the ACT.

I've won poetry and fiction contests.

And I'm genuinely just winging it the entire fucking time

I wrote a few papers for friends on books I never read in high school.

Like, I don't like to brag, but I'm a damn good writer. Won awards, been puvlished.

The problem is that I never use that skill for anything other than fanfic...and even that only happens once a year. :V

(I have no confidence in my original works)
