Sitting at work. In a room. Counting down the days til your contract ends and you end up facing the inevitability of being at the mercy of the job market really takes the wind out of any sail you had prior to that realization setting in.

Quality synthetic watercolour brushes are just as good.
One of my most used brushes, the one I use for the smallest details, is actually a cheap synthetic brush used by nail artists

Because I know lots of folks who get high quality brushes for watercolor or mini painting it bears repeating:

Kolinsky sable brushes, squirrel brushes, "natural" brushes are made from animals that are trapped and killed for their fur

Please use high quality synthetic natural brushes instead!

This is the turn counter for @vanrydergames.bsky.social 's tabletop game #finalgirl. Based the paint scheme off of Jason's mask from Friday the 13th(7?). Base coat of white with a burnt umber/yellow for the siding of the mask. Used nuln oil to give it a grimy look.

Next one in my backlog for the #finalgirl tabletop game. This is for the #falconwoodfiles VHS. The painting scheme was based on the main image of the monster from the expansion. Some creative liberties taken.

Random #miniature I have had for a while. I painted it in the style of a bronze statue that is aged. It was rough finding a way to mimic bronze but was a great way to #practice painting.
May or may not be used for a game but the process was fun nonetheless.

Took 3 hours to get to this from a simple shape on the mount. Done in Plasticine clay and hoping to continue tomorrow. Using my partner's head as a template with Davinci Eye (hard to use one handed). First time doing a bust like this. Have to continue the hand this week too.
