2/2 The first 2 ended on cliff-hangers. This one left me feeling whole and hopeful and confident Nit and GeeGee can handle themselves on any future adventures. This is one of my favorite spooky series of all times! 📚👍 #schoolibrary

1/2 loved, Loved, LOVED the 3rd (and final?) book in the Horrible Bag trilogy: The Cursed Cloak of the Wretched Wraith by Rob Renzetti. The entire series twists your mind and book 3 is no different, except for the ending.
The cover of The Cursed Cloak of the Wretched Wraith has an outline of a dark cloak with the title inside in yellow font. Surrounding the cloak is a red and black vortex.

Holy schmoly- have y'all read this yet? Caught myself laughing out loud 3 times! Author Eliza Kinkz wraps a lesson about how to handle mistakes in love and laughter and Spanglish. I cannot wait to read this to my students! #schoollibrary 📚👍
The cover of Mistaco: A Tale of Tragedy and Tortillas has a yellow cover. A girl with brown hair and a red shirt is making a sad face and is trying to remove a tortilla from the right side of her face. In the background, she is flanked by her grandparents who are both holding up tacos.

2/2 Great message celebrating neuro-differences instead of shaming them. And if you haven't read Fish in a Tree yet (Hunt's bestseller from 2016), you def should! These two books would make an excellent One School, One Book pairing for elementary! #schoollibrary 📚👍
The cover of Fish in a Tree is teal green with the title written in bright hues. There is a bright green tree with the outline of a fish.

I am the librarian for 2 campus libraries and have just started to put together my fall orders. Both libraries will be getting this lovely picture book. #schoollibrary 📚👍
The cover of Wish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt shows a boy with orange hair sitting on a tree branch in a large tree covered in green leaves.

The artwork, the endpapers, the fore-edge design (didn't even know what to call that until now), gorgeous. And the way the story is woven? Chef's kiss! I laughed and gasped and cringed and cried and it was glorious. So grateful for the artists who enrich our lives! 📚👍 #schoollibrarian

I just finished Grace Lin's newest MG novel The Gate, The Girl, and The Dragon. Reader, let me just say that this book is a masterpiece. It's beautiful! 1/2 📚👍
The cover of Grace Lin's The Gate, The Girl, and The Dragon shows a gray stone lion with a large stone ball in its mouth. There is a golden Chinese dragon on the right side and a young girl on the left side.

This book is a masterpiece! How do you navigate grief as a 13-yr-old? Renee Watson's novel-in-verse All the Blues in the Sky follows Sage as she mourns her best friend. One of my fav quotes: "Grief is like hunger...Every day it will show up. Every day I will have to tend to it." 📚👍 #kidlit
The cover of All the Blues in the Sky by Renee Watson has a blue background with purple buildings. There is a Black teenage girl with her pulled into a high puffy ponytail and wearing a green shirt.

Just finished this book today! I know there are a few skateboarding books in my schools' collections, but I don't think any feature a female MC. I think the Ss will be fighting over this one! 📚👍 #schoollibrary #kidlit

In @briespangler.bsky.social's KICKTURN, when the bus her family lives on breaks down, forcing them to take a break, Lindy is introduced to skateboarding. Tired of life on the road, when the bus is fixed, she takes drastic action in hopes of staying where she feels at home. #MGLit (1/2)
Cover of KICKTURN by Brie Spangler. Girl with blonde hair stands against a pink background. She's holding a teal skateboard in her hands, wheels facing forward.

Spotted this crazy cool critter on my lemon tree. I *think it's a swallowtail caterpillar.
8-yr-old: Mom, are you sure that's not bird poop?
Me: Want to taste it and find out?
8-yr-old: 🤮 No!
Me: Exactly! The camo is working.
We left him munching happily on the leaves. #natureislit #gardening
There is a gray and white swallowtail caterpillar eating leaves from a lemon tree. The caterpillar looks like bird poop.

After seeing your idea, I was wondering if I could use small frames at the end of my shelves and use fabric that matches the color of the sections. Are you using that sequined fabric that flips colors? Or just a fabric with texture?

Such a great idea!

I read this one in the spring and fell in love with this little monster! Def on the purchase list for my elementary libraries! #kidlit #schoollibrarian

In STITCH HEAD by Guy Bass w/art by Pete Williamson, after years of being overlooked, Stitch Head thinks things will change when he's offered a spot in a traveling circus. He's right, but just not how he'd imagined. Fabulous art, (lite) horror & lots of heart! #MGLit 📚👍🏻

This summer I've devoured dozens of books. Currently rereading Gordan Korman's Restart. Chase Ambrose is one of my favorite characters! 📚👍 #schoollibrarians #kidlit

Recently read “Caution! This Book Contains Deadly Reptiles” by Corey Tutt and Ben Williams. It’s packed with info about Australian reptiles, their First Nations names, cultural significance and ecological roles. The conversational style is engaging, the glossary is great. 1/4
