Illustrated book cover with the title "I'M BUSY" in large red letters. A worried-looking pink flamingo and a small brown potato character stand near the top of the text. Below, a girl with pigtails struggles to carry a stack of books and papers, walking through a floor scattered with more papers and school supplies. Illustrated book cover for I'M BUSY by Debbie Ridpath Ohi featuring a blissful young girl hugging a book, sitting cross-legged on a pile of books, surrounded by giant piles of books. Beside her is a white dog holding a book in its mouth, looking expectant.

S&S has launched a romance-forward New Adult imprint, and I am one of the many editors across the S&S Children’s division who is now also acquiring for Scarlett Press! In addition to my kids/teen list, I’m seeking high stakes NA romantasy & thrillers with plenty of spice, yearning, and tension.

"Having the freedom to read and the freedom to choose is one of the best gifts my parents ever gave me." - Judy Blume

Quote from Judy Blume reads "Having the freedom to read and the freedom to choose is one of the best gifts my parents ever gave me." An illustration shows a young girl reading a book on a green bean bag. The cover of the book says "I love to read." Art is by Debbie Ridpath Ohi, based on a character from The Pain and The Great One.

Continuing to find TogetherCraft (Minecraft server for grown-ups) such a welcoming community. Last night I accidentally fell down a water shaft thingy and got trapped underground, couldn't figure out how to get out. People gave me advice and then one of the mods came to rescue me. 😁
Screenshot from a Minecraft session. Brown pot on grass has a sign that reads, "A lil gift for inkygirl. Welcome to TC" A minecraft figure named discgolflefty with a pickaxe stands on grass in-world. Text chat indicates they are one of the server's moderators, and reads "You're welcome, haha."

THE LIBRARIANS @thelibrariansfilm.bsky.social is a *must-see.*

Thanks to @ifla.org Met Lib for the private screening at Toronto Reference Library.

Terrifying, deeply moving. I know several of the librarians & recognized books by many #KidLit #YALit friends. 😢

Has your library curtailed or outright banned anything related to Banned Books Week this year? I'm not talking that you're doing something else (i.e., freedom to read week). I'm talking YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING related to the topic.

Tell me about it anonymously --> tinyurl.com/banning-bbw25

Just bought three more audiobooks through @libro.fm because I made the mistake 😂 of browsing their Indie Bookshop Appreciation Sale and could not resist. Have already read/loved PRACTICAL MAGIC by Alice Hoffman & PACHINKO by Min Jin Lee. Have not yet read THE BOOK OF DOORS by Gareth Brown.
Promotional graphic for an “Indie Bookshop Appreciation Sale.” Text says: “In celebration of independent bookstores, shop our limited-time sale on bestselling audiobooks through October 13. Don’t miss out—purchases support Bakka Phoenix Books!” The top shows a collage of audiobook covers, and there is a button labeled “Shop the sale.”

Also on my @libro.fm wishlist:

YOU'RE NOT DOING IT RIGHT: Tales Of Marriage, Sex, Death, and Other Humiliations, by @michaelianblack.bsky.social (narrated by Michael). The author also wrote a bunch of children's #KidLit books which I illustrated, like I'M BORED. 🩷
