I remain unconvinced a human even wrote these grossly biased survey questions but...

PLEASE consider filling this out if you are a Canadian and oppose the government spending a single cent on AI hype garbage.

If you are a Canadian citizen or resident, and you hate "AI"¹, please fill out this survey.

The survey questions are *extremely* biased, so this will not be a fun experience, but I think it is worth it.

¹ (And if you like "AI"… how have I not blocked you yet?)

I am seeing a lot of people reposting Lakota Man today bc it's Indigenous Peoples Day. A reminder that he is not well liked amongst many (most?) Natives on social media. Many of us blocked him a long time ago. Some of the reasons why are in this article.

Who is LakotaMan, the user behind one of the most popular Native American accounts on X?
John Martin is adored by white X users—but infamous among Native and Indigenous communities.

THREAD. Did you know that at about 1/3 of all stranger homicides in the U.S. are perpetrated by police? But there's something hidden here that is important to understand in this authoritarian moment.

A lot of white people are mourning this woman which is funny since she was a stalwart defender of a sexual abuser. And Annie Hall was boring as fuck
It’s funny how people gloss over the truth for the performance of morality in death

Kinda rich, isn't it? Grammar advice coming from somebody whose prose sounds like terrible beat poetry

These 3 guys say hi, they’re quite extroverted, just out there floofing out. Of course you can’t tell they’re like 125 ft tall and over 100 yrs old from the pic! 3 majesties on my lil “useless” land lol. I love them.

What kind of modding 👀👀

I really enjoyed the few times I got to play it! The movie aesthetic was perfectly suited to a pinball adaptation.

..then again, LOTR wasn't something I would have expected would make a wicked pinball and yet it did

it's because the pinball machine turned out so good looking

(disclaimer this one is modded)

My only comment on fixating on this tree in particular is that there are beautiful trees all over the place, it just takes someone (You!) to appreciate them.

I've met so many beautiful old trees in my wandering, it's always a pleasure 🥰🥰

Sorry I was enjoying myself so much I forgot to share the mushrooms I found :)

🍄📸 So many boletes!! And fungal diversity 😍
A wonky Bolete is falling over on the colourful forest floor. It has black scabers on the stalk, and small creamy coloured pores that stain a reddish brown A weird little fat fungal creature sits on the forest floor. Likely an Amanita "egg", it sorta looks like a yellowy beige sphere on a platform. Top down view of a stump with a series of cracks in it stained a deep blue-green colour, likely indicative of the presence of Chlorociboria Three spindly black fungal appendages (Geoglossum I believe) emerge from the lush green moss

I see what all the fuss is about, she is rather pretty
The windswept pine (aka "The Tree") on the rocky shore of Georgian Bay. It's an extremely well photographed tree, estimated to be around 100 years old. The braces are to slow it's eventual slide into death A further away silhouette of the windswept pine against the blue sky

Thank you ❤️

Glad neither my friend nor I was alone!

Anyways uh, the old round house was extremely cool and I really wish I could have stayed longer to photograph the lichens and mosses but, I don't like being stalked....
A long concrete wall snakes through the overgrown forest, archways 2 storeys high allowing sun to pass through the structure. Some colourful graffiti is present on the wall, but the moss and other greenery are working much harder An old structure full of birch and poplar trees with massive old window arches

Absolutely zero idea what this man's issue with us was. My friend carried only a camera, I had a small hydration backpack. If the issue was with settlers generally, why leave the old tourists to go on their way and be incredibly aggressive towards us?
mycomagus.bsky.social
This entire situation is extremely confusing. Reservations that prohibit outsiders from visiting, like the one I live right next to, post clear signage in areas that visitors aren't welcome. There was none of that.
mycomagus.bsky.social
1. There were no signs prohibiting entry because ...we were not on the Reservation. We passed an open gift shop on the way in, ffs.

2. People are allowed to be on crown land

3. An Indigenous person told us about this area specifically and warned us to watch out for oil pits, not angry locals
mycomagus.bsky.social
He left the old couple to their business and proceeded to follow us in his pickup, passing by our vehicle multiple times while we parked to take photos of local history (ruined old train station), and then tailed us for a very long time until we left the area, and beyond.
mycomagus.bsky.social
While it initially read as grumpy land stewardship by a local, my opinion changed after he encountered a senior white couple right after us, there for the exact same stated purpose as us, who did not get this treatment.

My friend is Guyanese. The man never spoke to me (white masc) once.
mycomagus.bsky.social
Went to crown land adjacent to a Reservation w my friend to take photos of ruined buildings.....and got *interrogated* and then aggressively followed by a random old (presumably Indigenous) man.

For once I got a shipping error in my favour and got sent 2 brand new double burner camp stoves instead of the 1 that I purchased

I guess I will return the 2nd one for a refund and enjoy my free stove?
