This book is what immediately came to mind when I saw the #SundayPixBelonging topic for the day. I've had this for many years, and will read snippets now and again.

Book titled, Belonging Remembering Ourselves Home, Toko-pa Turner. The background is a black sky with constellations, each one filled with a person doing something: holding/offering vegetables, smelling flowers, gardening, chasing butterflies. Each person is a different ethnicity, disabled, LGBTQ, a child, alone or together.

I would absolutely love to have it available at a reasonable price. The HEB I shop at has minimized what they carry, & charges a fortune for it.
I'll have to check if there's a halal butcher nearby; thanks for the tip!

I suppose so. I don't know what else to call it, but it's been like this the past 2 years.

The silence is unnerving; all I heard was human-made sounds, with a rare cicada or bird call. This is late summer for us & should be full of crickets, birds, & other insects.

Sitting outside after re-potting a plant. It's a beautiful 88F, a nice breeze, & low humidity.
A cicada sings, reaches the high point, then slowly grinds down.
Normally, another cicada would jump in to sing back, followed by another, yet there's nothing but silence. It's so wrong, I want to cry.
