Hey! I'm Raph, I write, I draw, I know the name of things. I don't interact with "proshippers" and quite despise that lot.

I talk a lot about gay knights and also dragons.

exactly. with destiny there was Your Guardian and then there was the Default Young Wolf who most people consider to be their own character. so the ocs people would make were basically npcs also. they existed in the setting but it didn't revolve around them. ykwim never seen a fandom like xiv before

it's kinda shocking to me how little npc/npc stuff there is out there even with like thancred and urianger. i come from the destiny community originally and its really not pc based over there so it's been a strange experience for me seeing ocs have the dominant voice in character spaces

for real 😭 biggest complaint i have is how all* of them downplay aymeric and estinien's canon friendship so their wol can be More Important or something. idk. reeks of either homophobia or insecurity. or both

*exaggerating here but it is a common thread ive noticed

there's been a Lot of people straight up posting about how "trite" or "boring" or (can't forget this banger) "toxic" e/stimeric is w/o censoring it for the past few months. notably by a lot m/f w*lshippers unfortunately

if he really really wanted a kid, honestly i think he would adopt. because he knows what that's like, and feels like it'd be more important to give an already living child a better life than Continuing The Bloodline or w/e

and i think the idea of even having children genuinely kinda scares him. what with being a bastard, and straight up having in his profile that he doesn't want anyone else like him (a bastard) to exist in ishgard as in an "i don't want anyone else to experience what i and so many others did." way

i think aymeric is frustrated by the concept of being a husband/father and the Pressure To Be Those Thing as expected by ishgardian society at large.

i have many thoughts about the heteronormativity in ishgardian upper class. sure i like my fantasy not having homophobia/transphobia but it's hard to ignore the implications behind a society and class who are expected to Get Married, Have Kids, Continue The Line
