Interesting enough about Kuehne & Nagel but the @financialtimes.com (of all newspapers!) should know that the suggestion that German companies are only now being forced to engage with their difficult pasts is just nonsense - this has been a live topic for a good 30 years.

For me it's about working to ensure that the machine-like character of universities doesn't reproduce itself in our individual working habits. The downside: it takes a long time to produce books (or it does for me, at least).

I'm old enough to remember the NF and BNP in the 1970s. But the scale and intensity of racist hate that's being whipped up now is in many ways worse. Not least because so many "mainstream" politicians and so much of the media are actively fanning the flames.
