The front lines in Portland remain bleak. Today the local coffee-shop/bookstore/meditation space ran out of oat milk so I had to have soy in my favourite new latte.

And the frogs, Martha. Oh god the frogs.

Is the Metrotown skytrain Speakers’ Corner an official thing?

I tried talking back today and the microphone just stared like he’d suddenly noticed the crowd pushing past him was made of individuals.

The Province is speeding the wrong direction down a one-way street. Making access to driving easier and cheaper while stripping away safety measures in the name of "efficiencies". This is the opposite of Vision Zero. www.biv.com/news/comment...

We’re an urban country, and should lean into that.

Make every named place an amazing village, town, city with a clear urban-rural boundary. “Now entering..”

Fun fact: despite the enormous land mass, the population-weighted density of Canada — basically the density experienced by the average person — is the same as Denmark and close to the Netherlands.

Canada and Denmark are 3,000 people per km², while the Netherlands is 3,400/km².

Today, the Senate took a historic step to change that.

The ROAD to Housing Act will help communities – urban, suburban, and rural – build more housing and bring down costs.
