Not feeling hopeful about SAMHSA grants (HRSA does not have the type of expertise for SAMHSA grants, even if they survive-though could mean more capital funding for SUD/AUD/MH). This is obscene and sociopathic in the opioid era and while evidence of alcohol’s harm at levels considered safe builds.

The original polling analysis and presentation was trash (I only delved into it for an hour or so but… don’t trust the tables for reasons I posted on profile). I think there is some good intel in the dataset on specific policy issues, but the Q-selection and A-presentation are… not in good faith.

The right has been getting high on their own supply in thinking Hispanics are mostly immigrants (and recent). And first or second generation if US born. Like 4% of Hispanics are immigrants here under 10 years. Over two-thirds are native, many families here for far longer than MAGA leadership’s.

A friend was on a plane flight out of ABQ and noticed an unusual wi-fi network (I won’t put the actual but along the lines of handsomesexymotha). Turns out it was GZA of Wu Tang returning from the concert/kids chess tourney (and yes, he was playing chess in flight). Love that CABQ did that.

If the Project 2025/GOP strategy of shifting larger pots of money to state block grants succeeds (e.g., dissolving Dept of Ed) there will be so many more stories like Farve in griftier and good-ol-boy states. Mine (NM) tends to institute fed intent plus more, thankfully.
