So about that whole "Vance will be worse and more powerful than Trump" idea... He cannot even be kept on air. He's lost in the damn sauce! What kind of dictator can't control the press?

The fact that I still hear Huntrix songs on the radio tells me that unlike most Netflix movies, Kpop Demon Hunters isn't going away anytime soon even if the hype has died down.

Much like Frozen, it will have staying power for years.

I've said it before and will say it again:

If they TRULY plan for there to be no more elections and are "acting like there will be no elections", WHY ARE THEY GERRYMANDERING, TRYING TO RIG VOTING MACHINES, AND RETIRING?

These people literally don't understand a big part of resistance is learning and remembering where to find joy and hope even in what seems like a bleak world

I feel like there's just a segment of the population, trans or cis or otherwise, who will always insist that being happy is fundamentally a character flaw that implies you are insufficiently aware of/don't care enough about the world's problems

Also I might ask why are we still having elections now with Dems significantly overperforming from last year? I don't think many have considered that trying to cancel elections completely is one thing that has a lot of potential to piss off a ton of people on both sides of the aisle.

I know that this is probably a hot take around here, but I choose to believe that there are more good people in the world than bad.

Unfortunately, social media and even the legacy press knows they get more likes and views by appealing to and highlighting the bad.

Everything we have seen from this administration makes it clear these people don't really have the organizational chops to pull off elections theft on a fully national scale. Remember here in the US everything is managed at the county level

I know you're scared about the Dominion buyout and the gerrymanders. Here's the thing.

It's easy to flip a few thousand vote in a machine or gerrymander a little and get away with it. But it's really fucking hard to do that to a hundred thousand votes or to remove the other side totally that way. 🧵

Yes, there are people still holding on to the cope of a stolen election...like Harris won NY. also we can't at this point try to re-run or re-litigate 2024. The best we can do is move to 2025, and 2026, and 2027 and 2028.

abcnews.go.com/US/election-... Here is a good article on what exactly the certification process for voting machines entails. They don't just stress test the machines, the also check for any irregularities in the software and the chain of custody is tightly monitored and controlled.
Election fact check: How voting machines work and why they're hard to hack
While election officials use technology for voter registration, tallying and in some cases vote-casting, the system is largely centered around paper ballots.

Exactly this. Voting machines generally designed to be extremely difficult to tamper with and are not connected to the internet making them very difficult to hack on top of being placed under strict surveillance.

I do agree with you, also people forget that voting machines gotta be certified by the state. For example I remember the first touch-screen voting machines that got decertified almost immediately when they fucked up in the 2004 elections that fall.

This as well, it's very likely any state that sees shenanigans will do something, as has happened with ongoing vote investigations under the covers regarding 2024's elections.

This did not happen because Trump rigged the machines. It happened because morons didn't fucking vote.

Yep, if there's an issue with any of the votes, you can be sure that it will be looked at.

Paper ballots are just safer. They will show the same exact blue shift, no computers needed.

By the way, all voting machines are subject to state laws to be certified. So if there's a fuck up that badly, the state secretary of state can deceritfy that company's machines. Yes, this has happened here in PA when we started using touch-screen voting, and the machines fucked in the 2004 vote.

@theromanoreport.bsky.social has some choice words about resilience. And he's been one of the ones more alarmed about what's happening than most.

He's right to be alarmed. Shit's scary right now. But the important thing is NOT TO GIVE UP. Ever. Because they won't win.

There just is no way, even with THIS MUCH cheating, it will work. Not one damn way.

Because you can only cheat so much, before the cheating becomes a liability and a problem.

And they also hate mail in ballots. Who typically votes mail in? Mainly GOP voters like old people, military, Feds.

They're losing GOP and center badly. MAGA is fracturing. I have seen evidence that some MAGA are so upset, they plan to vote straight blue or not vote.

Good luck trying to flip THAT.

As for a Republican buying out Dominion, 2 things:

1) They want to go back to paper ballots. It is very hard to cheat paper ballots. VERY hard.
2) It's easy to get away with tiny number fudges when a race is close. It's a lot harder to do it when it's a massive shift. This will be a massive shift.

The Dems did this 20 years ago in Nevada. It failed so hard because all the red got dispersed so much, no district was safe enough. And the GOP won.

The same will likely happen in Texas and Missouri, and the GOP hasn't realized this yet. When they do, it will be too late for them. They. Fucked. Up.

We are already seeing the effects the GOP choices have had on otherwise not competitive races. Red states getting blue wins. Increased voter turnout. All of that.

A gerrymander to eliminate all blue seats just spreads the blue into formally safe red spots. This is called a dummymander.
