Right now I am not saying getting rid of Trump will magically fix everything but it will go a long way towards making things better since the MAGA movement will likely fall apart very fast without their cult leader.

This is also why I have very little patience now for all the apocalypse posters writing America off as a failed country and that redemption for the US is impossible. Its especially stupid when you consider how successfully Japan was able to rehabilitate itself post WWII having done far worse shit.
One side effect of hardening myself against social media's performative misanthropy is that I no longer have patience for films/books/tv that operate from a cynical standpoint and act like humanity isn't worth saving. That's not cool or edgy anymore, all I see is the author's untreated depression.

If I were to take a drink for every time I saw some European poster proclaim that Trump and his goons will just rig all the elections to stay in power forever without really understanding how US elections work, I would probably be dead of alcohol poisoning by now

The obvious problem with divorcing from the US is that again, you are going to be inevitably left with a massive void that will be extremely difficult if not impossible for Europe to truly fill and that a lot of their strongest options could easily come back to bite them
The latest push by Trump is slowly but surely pushing Europeans over the edge. It is currently only spoken in primarily in private, but "divorce" is in the air. This is reported by Politico.
