gosh and then the story of how all the people she helped and saved working as a paramedic/emergency responder protecting her and making sure she got away from the violence being committed on the white knights... it all comes back to her in her moment of need and i love it

the little glimpses we get into her history - making friends with the rich girl, the horrible attack on them both, how she used to smoke and live a little edgier in high school, to ultimately taking up work as a valkyrie - it all makes her so much more 3 dimensional

its got a lot of light and well rounded non antagonistic characters and the writing focuses on bonds between the characters so there's a lot of funny interactions along with the more introspective and melancholic moments. and a lot of it is also just frankly beautiful

I don't think advancement is necessary for it to be good or fun - the nature of talking about something like a game or any other piece of media means that most questions and arguments don't exactly have right answers.

I don't like how "discourse" became a bad word for a bad thing. Discussion with differing views on stuff is fun! At least when it's not like an axiomatic difference in basic values lol

@kayin.moe so in the context of building up gameplay literacy and the like, do you think a full appreciation of an older title may have to preclude savestates and rewind? tough pill to swallow if so
