Parasite Eve (1998) was an RPG from Square for the Sony PlayStation. In SquareSoft's first M-rated title, the power of mitochondria awakens in New York City on Christmas Eve! Rookie cop, Aya Brea, is swept into a quest to track down and stop the horror before it is too late. (a cellular thread)

Parasite Eve was a heavily story driven game with cinematics and combat in between.

A shot of Parasite Eve's action combat. The geodesic grid that appears here shows the range of her attack as a reference point for players.

Parasite Eve was an urban RPG with stats and gear customized for it and this was a shot of the stats screen and menu on the side. It looks like my HP shows a bit of damage from my adventure.

You can rename Aya to whatever you want at the start of the game. In this scene, Aya is backstage, chasing after the mitochrondria powered singer who has escaped.
