Good news if you like history, manuscripts, or nice books! 'The Illustrated Cairo Genizah' is now available at *greatly* reduced shipping costs via @theul.bsky.social (UK) and Amazon (worldwide) from this link: linktr.ee/nposegay. There's also a free sample file there with the entire first chapter.
5 copies of 'The Illustrated Cairo Genizah', by Nick Posegay and Melonie Schmierer-Lee, stacked on a light brown tabletop. The books' spines are facing the camera. The book is large and the covers are dark red, with the title and authors' names in white. The cover also has a grid of 21 square images each cut out from a different medieval manuscript.

Incredible that this man thinks he can gaslight us into thinking he couldn’t have stopped the genocide, that he wasn’t a collaborator par excellence.
Blinken:

(2/12) First, what changed to make this breakthrough possible? Hamas is finally and fully isolated. Arab states and Turkey have said “enough.” The misery Hamas provoked and would allow to persist has delegitimized it among most Gazans. And Hamas realized that the cavalry (Iran, Hezbollah, the Houthis) are not coming to the rescue.

(3/12) Israel has long since achieved its war aims -- destroying Hamas as an organized military force so October 7 can never be repeated and eliminating those responsible for its horrors – but at terrible cost to Palestinian civilians caught in a crossfire they did not start and were powerless to stop. Only the hostages remained. Israelis want them home and the war to end, putting pressure on the Israeli government to take the deal, not move the goalposts.

Given my post history I get a surprisingly small amount of abuse like this. I've spoken to women and Muslim colleagues who have it much, much worse. But I'm mentioning it now because it's increasingly from anti-Trump liberal accounts. We can't defeat fascism at home while supporting genocide abroad.

I like that you blocked me and then unblocked me to ask a question to which you already know the answer.

NPosegay
I did unblock you because I saw this message but don't remember what I said that might make you call me an idiot. Can you link the post please?

Ohhhh I see now. thank you

Your entire attempt to justify the destruction of Israel and its right to exist as a nation-state is pure antisemitism.

You’re an idiot, because you think wrapping yourself in academia hides the intent behind your words.

Am Yisrael Chai

I'm sorry you feel that way
But thanks for letting me know

Exactly. Our state-controlled fascistic security forces who specialise in intimidation and wanton violence should be out there arresting our state-controlled fascistic security forces who specialise in wanton violence and intimidation.

Scahill’s been relentless on this, and I admire and thank him for the clarity he’s brought to discussions of the media narrative on the Palestinian liberation struggle.

More people need to absorb and reiterate this. Watch. 👇🏼

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

The IDF is supposed to withdraw in three phases. This is Phase I, where they retain control of 58% of Gaza. Critically, even Phase III formalises Israeli control of a portion of Gaza, including all of Rafah and the border crossing with Egypt.

The January ceasefire never made it past Phase I.
Al Jazeera-produced map of the first IDF withdrawal zone for the Gaza ceasefire. Palestinian-controlled land is shown in white and IDF-control is shown in yellow. The yellow areas include the following areas listed in a box on the side of the map: Beit Lahiya; Beit Hanoon; Parts of Gaza City's Shujayea, Tuffah, and Zeitoun; more than half of Khan Younis; nearly all of Rafah; all crossings in and out of Gaza. A large caption in the top left reads: "Israel retains control of 58% of the Gaza Strip"

It's genuinely shocking how little of Rafah is left. An ancient city that had a pre-war population of ~200k, forced to take over 1,000,000 refugees from Gaza City and Khan Younis, then completely levelled for the crime of being the only city in Gaza with an escape route.

Bluesky is so weird. Just found someone denying genoc*de while also saying "we are all antifa." The list of these accounts grows daily.

When we had the 100-day Palestine Solidarity Encampment in Cambridge, every Saturday afternoon, there was a pro-Ukraine protest on the other end of the street. Both actions would be illegal under this change.

Protests 'recur' because the government does not listen. That's the whole point.

Kidnapped in international waters, extraordinary rendition to a genocidal state, and then imprisoned indefinitely.

You'd think this would trigger the immediate expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador for these inexcusable actions against an Australian citizen.

Perhaps. South Africa still exists. The end of the state of Israel as we know it, certainly, but Israelis still have a right to exist. Israel could end the occupation, give everyone in the WB/Gaza/East Jerusalem full citzenship and right of return, then continue as some kind of pluralistic democracy
