Screeching in late on this one due to fam stuff but wow, it's an interesting foray into hubris & this weird intersection of "I believe in science but won't listen to scientists". Like damn...I bet they want to do their own research like RFK Jr.

I'm still catching up on the fray & the thing that stands out to me is that none of the people bashing Chantzy have any apparent science background while she's an epidemiology grad at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Med.

Interesting. While the severity and mortality in the acute phase of the infection may be true, recently there's been very concerning information in regards to the risk of developing LC even in children. Summary article from Penn Med on pediatric LC risk 👇

My DPT attended some No Kings protests out in the Hillsboro area & I attended some in Beaverton. Probably a thousand or more were out at the Beaverton one and "at least hundreds" in Hillsboro. As my mom used to say, "You know things are bad when protests are in suburbia..."

My body is a bit broken from the last 3 weeks of personal chaos. I was put into a situation of starvation for a total of 13 days which halted all of my PT as I wasn't getting enough food to sustain me. Big problems afoot from that but I'm alive & will rebuild.

I am very pissed about it all tho.

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Yep! Given the number of people that mentioned the lost of taste/smell, I wonder how many of them realize that, based on a recent study, their sense of smell/taste are not nearly as recovered as they think it is.

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.

Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street
earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.
Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk.
Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.
