Thanks for having us! We learned a lot.

Thank you @oregoncub.bsky.social for inviting us to your Annual Energy Conference. It was a great opportunity to hang out with our energy allies in person, and talk in depth about what we can about utility affordability and growing energy demands. #EnergyAffordability

Oregon is home, not a military target. We reject Trump’s attempts to militarize our state. AG Dan Rayfield and the City of Portland won in court twice to stop them, but the fight isn't over. Thank our leaders for standing strong and urge them to keep at it: action.aclu.org/send-message...
Thank our elected leaders for protecting Oregonians from federal abuse of power
Please take action!

Each dollar we invest in #ClimateAction pays us exponentially by lowering energy bills and reducing pollution that causes asthma & heart disease. Gutting these funds will make energy expensive and Oregonians less healthy. State leaders must stand up and defend our climate values.

Oregon to lose an additional $400 million in federal climate grants
Oregon and 15 other Democratic states are losing nearly $8 billion toward climate projects, after the Trump administration terminated multiple federal grants.

We're rising up to say saying #NoTroopsInOregon because it's a dangerous abuse of power that puts frontline communities in even greater danger. We won't be divided or silenced by the actions of the federal government. We'll keep protecting our families, our futures, and our collective power.

Text: Week Without Driving Monday September 29 - Sunday October 5
If you can drive or afford a car, you may not understand what it’s like to rely on walking, rolling, transit and asking for rides. But for nearly a third of people living in the United States – people with disabilities, young people, seniors and people who can’t afford cars or gas – this is our every day.
We created the Week Without Driving experience so that those who have the option to drive can learn firsthand about the barriers and challenges that nondrivers face and work with nondrivers to create more accessible communities for all.

It was so fun to support Verde and hang out with Building Resilience #CullyFest this year! We loved meeting new people, sharing food, and helping create a space where everyone felt welcome. Pictured: our advocacy director with @brad-reed.bsky.social and Annabelle of Verde. #PDX

Yesterday was #ZeroEmissionsDay. Fossil fuels drive extreme heat, drought, & wildfires that hit frontline communities first and worst. Reducing our dependence on gas and oil means fewer heat waves, wildfires, and droughts. That's why we ask you to stand with communities fighting for #ClimateJustice.

We’ve won real change, and it’s worth celebrating (again). Last week, @tinakotek.bsky.social signed the FAIR Energy Act into law, which will keep energy bills from skyrocketing. This win proves our work matters. That our communities are powerful. That we're building the energy future we deserve.

The same system that drives the climate crisis also exploits workers, especially farmworkers who face extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and flooding while keeping our communities fed. We’re taking #LaborDay off because we believe in a future where no one has to risk their lives to put food on our table.

Yesterday, we stood with @tinakotek.bsky.social as she signed new energy bills into law, including the FAIR Energy Act, which will protect Oregonians from constant rate hikes. We thank her for helping to ease bills, especially for those who most bear the brunt of this tough economy. #EnergyJustice

This past weekend marks Oregon’s third #HeatWave JUST THIS MONTH. Hot summers used to be rare, but now they hit every August. Burning fossil fuels is cooking our planet, causing more heat waves, deaths, and rising energy costs. No one is safe until we all are. Step into the fight: buff.ly/SnyoV5U

Oregon is facing yet another heatwave 🥵 Thankfully, Oregonians are protected from disconnection because of CUB and fellow energy advocates. Learn more at the link in our bio! A special thank you to the community partners who helped secure these protections. Check out their work!

No one should lose power during a #HeatWave 😤🥵 These Oregon rules temporarily protect people from shutoffs & help qualified folks get reconnected w/o paying fees during #ExtremeHeat. These rules are only temporary, but allies like @oregoncub.bsky.social are working to make them permanent.
If an extreme heat warning, watch, or advisory is issued, PGE, Pacific Power and Idaho Power can’t shut off your power for nonpayment, and you’re protected until 48 hours after it ends. If you have a medical certificate or you’re on a bill discount program and were disconnected in the last 7 days, call PGE, PP, or IP to be reconnected at no upfront cost to you. If your power was shut off up to 72 hours before a heat watch, you can also be reconnected without paying reconnection fees.
