One of the best things about having a background in new media, like web/graphic design, is when people criticize your research I can just defer them to this totally supplement, and highly-aesthetic interactive website that I built for my working paper.

The landing page of the working paper website also has an interactive D3 graphic that pretty clearly shows that recession responsiveness of labor-based turning point indicators increases when you input more sensitive measures of underemployment, it's basically a gradient from U1 to U6. #EconSky

If you use Positron / VS Code and the Material Icon theme (which is nice!), it sometimes guesses folder icons wrong / doesn't know about #rstats things like targets or renv or Quarto. Just found out that you can set your own custom folder icons! gist.github.com/rupeshtiwari...

My experience is that in academia, people generally do not understand the difference between R and RStudio (language and EDA). From a student perspective, they run the RStudio app to do the analysis, so they cite that🤷
