The worst part of all of this is that the emotional hollowing-out of people is exactly the intent of the people behind GenAI.

A populace unable to think for itself is easy to manipulate and exploit.

Defending the sovereignty of your mind is no longer just a good idea, it is part of the resistance.

It's been 2.5 years now since I was laid off from my 18.5+ year job in corporate.

After spending 8+ months trying to find corporate work and getting crickets, I decided to try launching a solo career. It had a lot of bright spots and promising glimmers, until November 2024 and beyond.

From that same trip: Zeena and Gypsy both enjoyed foraging for blackberries along the trail in the woodlands. Tonttu has yet to learn this skill.

This day I need to sell things like Notion consulting for small businesses, and cohort + community programs like Agile Life Design.

I mean, I like people well enough in the abstract... but I have no desire to help groups of them larger than four or five.

But individuals? Especially individuals passionate about doing good (not "great", just good) things? I would help them all day every day for free... if I could.

Once I left corporate, it took me a long time to figure out who I really was and who I really wanted to be.

I've always been a border collie and good at herding things, but the fact that I only liked doing it for the purpose of helping individuals was a surprising revelation.

I've always been good at coming up with ideas, but the squirrel I have in place of a brain has never been any good at making them a reality.
