Mmm, since the emissions come from production, not use, I think it's not 'just reporting'. It's not like a car, where you have prod and use-phase emissions

A heavyweight synthesis of the turn toward green industrial policy. Impressive range. Makes me wonder, what if geoeconomics was always the central force in climpol? Previously, it manifested as distributional conflict over the decarb costs, stifling action. Now, it drives a race for benefits?

Why are electric bills so high? If your monopoly utility spends $10 million on wires and transformers, your state will let them increase prices to recover the $10M plus ~$1M per year, every year for the foreseeable future. You and your neighbors will pay ~$35M for ~$10M of infrastructure.

Is hostility to immigration something that people develop spontaneously based on their own experiences, or is it deliberately cultivated by politicians and the press?
