Male mice are the default in aging research.

Female mice are still less chosen, despite confirmed sex differences in how drugs impact our bodies.

Menopause? Considered in <1% of preclinical aging studies.

Ovallia is here to close the gap. #LongevityGap #WomensHealth
The most commonly used lab mouse doesn’t menstruate.

Yet, it’s still used in female biology research.

Do we even have a relevant model for women’s biology?
Ovarian aging sets the pace for women’s healthspan.

Ovallia is creating female-focused longevity models with biomarkers that truly reflect women’s biology.
OT = oxytocin (hormone that declines with age, supports tissue repair & homeostasis)
ALK5 inhibitor (A5i) = blocks the TGF-β pathway, which rises with age and drives inflammation & fibrosis.
Sex-specific biology in aging!

OT + ALK5 inhibitor extended lifespan by 73% in frail 25-mo male mice and improved their healthspan.

In females, mid-life treatment improved fertility but in older frail females it didn't extend lifespan or healthspan.

👉 Testing both sexes is essential

The FDA has approved elinzanetant, a new drug for menopausal hot flashes and night sweats that may also help with menopause-related sleep problems. Significant news for patients who can't take estrogen; nonhormonal treatments have been very limited.

❌Myth: Menopause only affects fertility.
🟢Fact: It also impacts bones, heart, brain, and overall healthspan.
Female mice in studies ≠ menopause research. We still lack biomarkers and natural models to study the transition that shapes female longevity!

What’s the one breakthrough in women’s health you wish existed? 💡👇
Women live longer, yet the sharp mid-life transition is still overlooked in science. Let’s close this gap with more translational research in female models!

Menopause is not just an end to fertility.

It is the sharpest transition in human aging which drives systemic changes with lifelong consequences.

It remains underexplored, with significant unknowns and therapies focused on symptoms rather than prevention.

Let’s change that. #FemaleLongevity
Let’s assume longevity was actually built for women. Which superpower would you pick first? 🧞‍♀️

✨ Forever ovaries
🌸 Glow-pause
🧠 Big Brain energy
💪🏻 Super mobility
Great to see women’s longevity in focus! ✨
Research shows ovarian aging drives whole-body aging, studying the menopause transition could unlock new paths to resilience and longer healthspan. #closingthelongevitygap
Studying ovarian aging and menopause is the missing key to true healthspan innovation! Let’s close this gap ✨

More female scientists, entrepreneurs and influencers are entering the longevity space. Their study of hormones and ovaries could unlock the key to a longer life for everyone. 🔗: https://on.wsj.com/3GM7HZj
It is definitely the hight time to understand better female longevity. Less than 1% of aging studies model menopause. Let’s change that! #closethelongevitygap
