Anti-vaxxers bear some responsibility for low HPV vaccination rates, but so too do the governments & academic institutions who refuse to speak up about misinformation.

A well made point by @theglobeandmail.com.

Globe editorial: A killer disease that should no longer exist
The existence of an effective HPV vaccine should have meant cervical cancer was stamped out. Instead, it’s the fastest growing cancer in Canada

Excited to post kid #1's first peer-reviewed paper 🧑‍🔬

What started as a 4th year project to design a biosensor to disease markers turned into a review article🧬

Next step, grad school applications.

🍁5138 people have contracted measles in Canada this year
🍁4550 of them were unvaccinated or under-vaccinated
🍁16 cases were newborn babies congenitally infected
🍁2 people died

No, immigrants are not to blame.

Yes, anti-vaxxers are.

Women's health is unnoticed, unfunded, & unappreciated.

It's time for Canada to develop a national women's health strategy.

Dr Sofia Ahmed & I present a plan to increase women's health research in this @healthydebate.bsky.social article.

Yes, medical schools should increase content & training about women's health, but so should universities in general & school boards.

Women's health isn't a niche. It should be part of the curriculum across the spectrum of education.

It was a great night celebrating Royal City Science's 5th anniversary w/ Nobel Laureate Dr. Donna Strickland & Quirks & Quarks' Bob McDonald.

From a call to ⬆️ basic science funding to inspiring stories about overcoming obstacles, it was an evening of great discussion & amazing stories.

If you know an anti-vaxxer, you can congratulate them on this hard-earned "win".

Honourable mentions to the universities & political leaders who have been so instrumental in making it easier for them to succeed.

This was truly a team effort.

So, it turns out that the "experts" who said COVID was harmless for kids & that the vaccines were dangerous were wrong.

Who could have predicted that these grifting charlatans could be so off-base?

Oh yeah...anyone with a basic understanding of science.

How great is the HPV vaccine?

It can even ⬇️ the risk of cervical cancer when given after precancerous cells are found.

I wonder why RFK Jr isn't talking about this study.🤔
